  1. My friend I think what you are experiencing is called cognitive dissonance ! The thought process we all go through when making a big purchase. I went through it too when I ordered mine and very nearly cancelled and went for a 3 series. I'm so glad I didn't now as the vRS rocks, 3 series BMs are ten a penny. I found the vRS was the only one to have the whole package in terms of what I was looking for, but your needs may be different from mine! All I can say is I read a lot on this forum whilst waiting for my order and nearly cancelled but glad I didn't. I thought about the dpf factor, the road noise, plastic cabin but in my opinion the last two are fine as it's well put together. Dpf has been fine on mine. But like i said only you can make the decision! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. As above I'm looking for a new clay bar used the autoglym one and was impressed with it but find it difficult to grip ...probably a silly question but is there a holder that you can get for them? Also if anyone can advise on how best to treat stone chips on the bonnet! Only a few but they bug me! TIA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Hi we have a maxi cosi familyfix base ( http://www.maxi-cosi.com/products/car-seats/base-units/familyfix.aspx )and that fits perfectly fine in a 2014 vRS estate, I'm guessing it will the same in the hatch. The leg part of it is fine as it's adjustable so you can alter the height to suit the seat height. The isofix points are only in the two outside seats in the back. Hope that helps, if you want pics let me know and I'll post when I get home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. 2014 2.0tdi VRs. My long term average since I've had the car shows at 41.9mpg and that does involve some spritely driving on the M1 and around Milton Keynes. I've so far clocked up 5000 miles on it. 80% of which is motorway, if I was to drive more conservatively I'm sure I could touch 50mpg but what's the point in having a VRs if your going to drive like that! But as others have said I think there comes a point where the engine settles down and mpg goes up .... I'm still waiting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Ordered 14th June and picked up 26th Sept; 2.0tdi with Black Pack, Canton, Sunset Glass, Amundsen Nav, Spare Wheel used Carfile.net but don't think that affects order times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. You probably have already done this but I'll suggest anyway.... Have you pressed the little car icon on the right of the sat nav touch screen when the map is showing... It shows a little car with arrows around it.... I.e. Pinpoint your location. Mine does it sometimes and ends up at the Emblen Docks! Pressing that icon brings it back to your location. 8. Must haves...Spare wheel, Canton (if you like your music!), Electric Folding Mirrors (I couldn't spec as a standalone when I ordered mine had to get electric seats as well but you can now) I went for Amundsen which I think is very good in comparison to other integrated sat navs. Black pack - personal preference but a must have in my opinion. Wheels defiantly personal choice and I regret not speccing the 19s! Sunset glass is ok but not a proper tint as some might think. I've just got a Leon FR with the colour maxi dot and now I wish I had ordered it in my vRS but only because I've seen it in the Leon! But for £80 it's worth it. Hope that helps! 9. Mine was ready for collection within a week if it driving at the docks but I guess it depends on transporters etc and how long the dealership will take to do a PDI... Believe me it'll be worth the wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I had exactly the same issue it was driving me nuts for days! Glad it's not just me ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. vRS TDi Estate Manual in Metal Grey! Only seen one other metal grey on the road but I'm sure there are plenty more to come ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. As above is there any way to see contact images on the Amundsen screen when an iPhone 5 is connected via Bluetooth? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You probably have already checked but one of your doors or boot isn't open is it ? I remember having an old Mazda 6 and lay there one night hearing it beeping trying to work out what it was and the boot was open... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. As stated above its air pockets developing in the system. For the system to maintain a constant flow there needs to be an interrupted flow of water going into the pressure washer. When I first got mine it did this and that was because I was turning the Karcher on and pressing the lance without the water connected to it... Thinking I was the Terminator! The problem with this is the Karcher just pulls air into the system when it's power is on and you press the lance. Then once the water is turned on this filters round the air causing the air pockets. Giving the pulsing that you mention. In a nutshell to prevent it make sure there is always a good uninterrupted flow of water going into the Karcher before using. When finished turn the power off and disconnect the hose then release any excess water using the lance. If the power is on and no water connected you will get air pockets. Hope that helps and makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I would be up for that was already planning something similar with a mate of mine guess we could all join up and travel down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks for the tips very very helpful think I will have to get my hands on some Sonax BSD sounds like the stuff to have!! I should've said I bought a snow foam lance with the snow foam still yet to use it. May try all the above on my wife's 5 year old KIA and see what happens to that! Chris I'm in Milton Keynes, I'll post some pics up as soon as I can. Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Guys looking for some advice really. Picked up my new VRS last week and have been slowly buying some kit over the last six months to try and detail it but the information out there is overwhelming ! Looking to see if I'm along the right tracks really. I'll start with what I've done so far it's Metal Grey not sure if that makes a difference or not? Rinse with Karcher Jet Wash Clean Wheels using Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner. Seal Wheels using AG Alloy Wheel Seal Clean all Door and Boot shuts using AG Engine and Machine Cleaner Shampoo with Mer High Shine Shampoo using a Lambswool Mitt with the two bucket method. Jet Wash to rinse shampoo. Finish with a microfibre drying towel. Polish using Mer Ultimate Shine Polish Wax with AG HD wax. Buffing with a microfibre cloth Have I missed anything ? Should I apply another coat of wax ? I've just bought some snow foam to use next time around. In regards to maintenance what should I do on my next wash ? And how often should I give it a thorough wash and wax? Really appreciate any advice. The car is looking good at the moment IMO but not sure if that's because it's new!! Thanks Again. 18. Ben Hi been eagerly following this thread for the last few months waiting for this day.... Wondered if you delivered to Rainworth in Mansfield as my Octy VRS in Metal Grey is due to be delivered there over the next week, it's currently on a ship being brought over! It's got grey stitching on the seats and black pack with the rear window tints... Could you keep an eye out for it please....the wait is almost over! I ordered the metal grey without actually seeing one in the flesh so hope it's as good as the pictures !!! Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Are the active headlights only linked to the Columbus or Amundsen as well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Mine has taken 3 months exactly from ordering middle of June to now due to take delivery in about ten days... Too many variables in the dates I think!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. As above I'm due to pick up my new diesel VRs estate in the next few weeks and wondered what the PDI involves and what I should look out for if anything? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I was quoted a build week of week 34 a week after I ordered in June but that changed to week 36 a few weeks later and that's now confirmed so it should be built in the next few days (excited!!!). But I was using trackmyskoda.com to get my info from but I'm told not every dealer uses that. I'd be lying if I said I haven't sat there refreshing the page hoping it would change and the build week get closer !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I ordered 18th June and have a confirmed build week of 36 - first week of Sept. So all in all I should be picking it up about 15 weeks after ordering. Much better than the 6 months I was quoted!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
