  1. tbh for used parts better off checking v.a.s.s on fb or ebay. Scene tax is a big thing in the classified especially on wheels and tuning parts, I see people asking retail on alot of used parts. I've seen used sets of team dynamics up for £400-£500, exhausts for £300, its silly. You can have a fully custom SS exhaust made for under £300.
  2. ahhh gutted theyre in no better condition than mine, apparently cant be refurbed to same finish.
  3. Any chance of posting the passenger side door card?
  4. Another vote for the BKR7E! I've got stage 1 also and started with the basic 150bhp AUM. Its alot better with the map, better MPG, much better acceleration, I cant see any reason not to. Although you do need 99 RON petrol so reliant on being near Tesco or Shell. I can get 43mpg on the way to work at a steady 70 (75-80 indicated) on the motorway, my long distance mpg average is around 34mpg over 2000 miles. The 2 other best mods ive done are the 312mm front brake upgrade and a 24mm adjustable whiteline rarb. It seriously reduces understeer to the point where they start handling with a good degree of composure.
  5. Ive noticed that very occasionally mine refuses to go into 1st, as does a Subaru in the household, in both cases they'll engage first if you rev in neutral before selecting the gear.
  6. Ive just done my HGV theory last month and seems the rules for rear overhang is that you need a triangle flag on the end if it overhangs by more than 2 meters.
  7. I need a front passenger side door card and potentially a drivers side too if the drivers grab handle is in decent nick.
  8. Just checked mine and it matches the headlining not the C pillers.
  9. How much let in the meguirs pack pal?
  10. Golf, leon, A3 wheels are a direct fit, fabia and polo wheels fit but need spacers to correct the ET. I hear golf recaros fit and seem to be the only different design of seat from these group cars that bolt straight in, S3 seats require a bit of custom work to fit i'm told. If its not a VRS the best mod brakes wise is to upgrade the front brakes to the 312mm items, this requires new discs, and a different caliper carrier, these are easy to find on ebay searching for '312mm caliper carrier mk4 golf', the carrier will come from either a VRS or the TT. Its honestly a 2 bolt per side job. A remap, uprated air filter and forge 008 is the best thing for these on a budget, if you've got the k03s turbo you'll make an easy 200bhp, getting much beyond that requires the entire exhaust to be ripped out and replaced, a front mount intercooler etc etc and is jolly expensive for another 30bhp or so.
  11. And on the comps, I just love the offset on these. The front ns one has a bit of kerb rash but the rest are pretty mint. Not bad for £104.
  12. I've got an L&K and to be honest the sand coloured leather isnt all that hard to keep clean. The carpets however do take a bit of work, I get all the mats out and shampoo them every couple of months. This is something i've been pondering over for a while as my bodyworks got so many scratches, dings and marks I recon its cheaper to buy a doner with a better shell and swap everything over than it is to have the marks taken out. I'll be following this with interest!
  13. Im running Fabia Elba wheels atm as a stop gap between getting my TT comps sorted out and my standard wheels urgently requiring tyres and a refurb. 4 decent enough Continental tyres, undertyred but will do for a couple of weeks.
  14. Ahh cheers for the heads up. Think ill hang fire until I understand them a bit better
  15. Does anybody know the part number for the assembly arrowed here? The numbers stamped on the parts themselves are 06a 133 783 the short pipe on the RHS, 200901, the valve, and PXO 416 541 3 for the Y piece. but dont seem to be correct.
  16. I dont suppose you have a RARB up for grabs?
  17. Cheers to RLY for linking this thread to me. Mine seems to be leaking from the rocker cover and sump, the turbo also seems to end up caked in oily residue from time to time. Whats strange is that it doesnt smoke and doesnt smell like alot of cars do when its being pushede. Mines taken about 1litre in the last 5k. Its reassuring to hear it isnt just mine that uses a bit. Especially considering what a ball ache it sounds to change turbo oil seals.
  18. It needs something to replace the rears, theyre overwhelmed by even modest volume levels. I suppose they could go completely and throw something bigger on the parcel shelf.
  19. To add the part numbers printed on them are, 06a 133 783 the short pipe on the RHS, 200901, the valve, and PXO 416 541 3 for the Y piece.
  20. I need help identifying this part, the part numbers printed on the actual parts dont seem to actually relate to the parts themselves, which is odd. I found a german Skoda forum that provided the image of what I need and somebody suggested part no 06A 133 529 C as a complete assembly which brings up lots of pictures of the parts I need but as per usual with these things it seems only VAG USA sell it. Any suggestions of where I source one in this continent? TIA
  21. Forgot how to get the edit function working so just to add, there is oil around sump seal and oil on the turbo, the oil on the turbo looks as though its coming from higher up as the pipes next to and above it seem to have a bit of oil on them
  22. So since my engine fell out and Skoda had to replace the block it seems to be using/losing a very small amount of oil, im doing upwards of 300 miles a week and the level on the dipstick seems to drop by a tiny amount every month or so (1200 miles). I've always serviced it using opie oils service kit with Millers XF long life 5w 30, which doesnt actually provide enough oil for the car (4litres included, 4.5 required), and so ordered another litre of which only 200ml remains. Its had 3 changes using the millers stuff (2 before the engine fell out, 1 after assuming Skoda reused the oil left in the car when the engine fell out). I first noticed it about 5 months after my last change where the level had dropped by approx 4mm on the dipstick. There is residue around the sump and some residue along the RHS of the engine as you look at it, which is exactly the same as a friends S3 and other friends mk4 golfs. What confuses me is that there are no drips on the driveway or where I park for work. Just residue on the engine. Is this an early sign of something worse to come or do they use small amounts of oil at higher milage? The cars on 133k, had a cambelt at 70k, 115k and then another cambelt at 123k when the engine was replaced. Im also suspicious about the dipstick itself as it feels quite loose as though something is missing.
