  1. Ah i see, I was aware the 90 isn't a PD but didn't realiset the 110 wasn't either! I would like to put a bigger turbo, FMIC, remap, launch control etc on, i've not decided the budget yet but got another 110 as a run about for now while i fix this one up. so theres no pressure, just as and when i can afford it. My question is which engine is the most reliable and can safely get 180-200 and handle it. I know the 150 has had issues with head bolts stretching at 200 and the same with the 130.
  2. Hi all! Recently my MK1 TDI has been having a bit of a paddy, gearbox, clutch and now head gasket. She's finished me off now and i'm going to have to put her at rest. I'm buying another octavia while I fix her up as and when i can/afford to. So i'm looking to get a donor car for an engine then break the rest for a bit of funding. Just wondering what you would all advise, I was thinking a PD110 with FMIC, uprated turbo, uprated clutch and a remap. but as it's going to be a big job i want to make sure I make the right choice, she currently has a (dead) ALH 90. Thanks in advance! -Leif
  3. Yes pretty sure, I mounted the clutch plate the correct way. I didnt have an alignment tool but managed to get the splines into the flywheel. as I have known with previous clutches it's either in or out. I did have a hole in the flexi near the slave but I cut it off and put a new flexi over the line crimps. It's making a tight seal and no leaks (just as a temporary repair. Where is master located? does it share the same master as the brakes as i've noticed the master under the resiovoir has 2 bleed nipples. I tried bleeding both. Thanks -Leif
  4. Hi all, Just replaced my clutch. As far as i'm aware all went smoothly. came to bleed the clutch as had no pedal. after bleeding we still struggled to get any pressure so we removed to slave to inspect and the seal had bust and it was pressurising the gator. Fitted a new slave today and the problem persists. bled the system as best as i could but still no pedal. funny thing is that there is pressure near the slave as i can see the flexi pipe expanding but still it's not following back to the pedal. I am absolutley baffled and very worried. Running out of funds and having no use of a car is becoming extremely problematic. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you! -Leif
  5. Hi all, I know it's a very late reply. Was just reading through previous threads and came accross this. Well I ordered a master but with further inspection found it to be another fault. There's a pipe to flex crossover just before the slave that had heated up and burnt through the flexi causing a nasty leak. Someone obviously took it out of it's retaining clip!! :wall: Anyway just thought I'd let you know. Thanks again. -Leif
  6. Hi all! I know this has been discussed time and time again but I can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for. Recently I lowered my Octavia MK1 1.9TDI on FK AK Coilovers. Found my 'Happy Height' as i call it for performance and asthetics. Only I've hit one slight problem.. Yes you may sigh.. The ARB is rubbing against the driveshaft. Not my picture but its identical apart from the adjustable drop link. Now I've heard many people say fit a TT, R32 or S3 ARB but I know they're designed for strut mounted droplinks. Is this the best way? and if so how do you mount the droplink to the wishbone? can i use the standard droplink or will i need to fit an extended on etc. Even better if there is a more simple option. Thanks in advance. -Leif
  7. Thanks very much got a better idea now. What I was thinking is a 130 turbo and injectors. Front mount then remap. Hopefully get 170-180bhp? Heard it has been done. Well I have a few options to consider. Thanks all for the advice will be posting the results if I get my arse in gear and stop faffing haha
  8. Right. Thanks for the info very helpful. Think I might fit it and maybe look to get a bigger turbo. Would I need a remap with a bigger intercooler and is there any chance I'd loose power. Also would a ko4s hybrid fit? And would I need a remap for that. Sorry for 1000s questions haha

  10. Thanks for the repy. Yeah it's an octavia ambiente 1.9 TDI 90 brake. Yeah mine currently has a side mounted. so would there be any loss? i would be fitting a front mounted with a bigger capacity Cheers -Leif
  11. Hi all, I've just been wondering would there be any gain or loss from having an intercooler on a standard PD90 turbo? Would it just create more turbo lagg? of course it would have a bigger space to pressurise. I don't have a great turbo knowledge so I may be completly wrong but I would like to fit an intercooler on my Octavia 1.9TDI, If it does have any gain what would it be? Thanks in advance -Leif
  12. Thank you very much! very useful and I will have a look after work, i ordered the master in panic as i need it fixed but i'll check it out first and if i don't need it i can just send it back. Thanks again i'll let you know how it goes!
  13. You're positive? I'm thinking that too but I dont want to go ahead and buy one if it turns out not to be the master cylinder. I don't have time to look at it and buy the part :/ might just go get a new one. Thanks mate
  14. yeah I've heard that's a very common problem on vags of that age but i've inspected the pedal and it doesn't seem to be too bad, i'm not sure i need to have good look in daylight but I'm working!! :wall:
  15. oh dear... is the master cylinder internal or external?
