  1. Thanks , the seals are all ok and dry ,all interior lights working ,inc puddle lights. But it was raining at the time.
  2. While driving along the other day , noticed all the engine warning lights came on , all the needles of the fuel , temperature guage and rev counter all went to zero , the clock and mileage trip counter went to zero . The fuel consumption display reset to zero . the engine stayed running and after a few seconds everything went back to normal. I have a 06 1.9 AWX , had it for 8 years ,all water ingress seals were done when purchased .Does anyone know what happened?
  3. I have a had similar problem . After rain sometimes i can feel water dripping onto my foot .I don't wear socks only sandals for a medical condition. There is usually a blockage of dirt in the corner, next to the ecu box in the corner between the ecu/wing /screen , you 'll see water there. I get a long cable tie and poke it under the ecu until the water runs away then pour some more water there to ensure it's clear
  4. my 7 year old /75000 mile superb failed for the first time last week on a CVboot and rear shock absorber
  5. Today , checking out the vacuum pipes , there was a plastic pipe at the rear of the engine had completely come out of a rubber pipe . Fixed now , engine back to normal. Thanks all
  6. I have a similar problem , i'm in Pontypool , where did you get it fixed ? Where is this vacuum valve
  7. I greased my pinch bolts 5 years ago with copperslip , both front springs broke this year , the garage mechanic was amazed when he had everything apart in 10 minutes . He said this was the first time he's ever got the bolts out in one piece
  8. ! sprayed mine twice, the egr cleaner didn't make any difference , i took it off last week ,it was covered in thick sticky black oily deposits .When you see whats inside you will know why the cleaner doesn't work well
  9. Thanks for all this info , i've just done this to my Superb 1.9Tdi AWX engine . I've been patiently waiting for good weather before starting. I have been putting a bottle of Forte in every 3 weeks. I removed the Egr and pipe from Egr to turbo. bought the tubing from Wilkinsons and elbow from Pets at home, warm up the tubing in a cup of boiling water and it will slide on the elbow easier. Sprayed in the Mr Muscle , it quickly came foaming out . Then put a blanking plate on the turbo ,washed off the mr muscle foam with watering can. Cleaned the Egr , put another blanking plate onto Egr and refitted the Egr back to the car.It took about 2 and a half hours all in. No more problems with limp mode now , the warning light stays on but i can ignore that. Its much more responsive and quieter now.

  11. Start with the passenger side first ,this side is usually driving in the most water . Just Cut the wires that go to the brake pad, solder together and shrink wrap to protect. Exactly as the previous post I didn't need to do the driver side pad wiring.
  12. it holds 2 and a quarter litres , but only 2 litres comes out . http://www.ebay.co.u...1#ht_1054wt_906
