  1. cool thanx. Its gonna be a long 2 weeks wait! Anyone know why it takes 2 weeks if they've got it in stock at the dealers? is it registration etc?
  2. boss wouldnt let me upgrade stereo! Does it have id3 tagging for mp3s, so u can see track information such as artist, song name etc? Will it read mp3s that are organised into folders or directories like a normal mp3 player?
  3. i think the dealer has got 1, 2 weeks delivery. So only headunit then? I thought there were stream and stream mp3 models?
  4. My boss just ordered me a new 2.0tdi elegance dsg estate, iwas wondering if the standard stereo that comes with it will be able to play mp3s? Or did i have to specify that i wanted mp3 upgrade? If it does play mp3s, will it play them in the cd headunit and the 6disc multichanger in the boot?
  5. Im looking to get a new octavia 2.0 tdi dsg estate elegance pack for my new company car. I was wondering if the "race blue" or "black" colour options are for vrs models only? Ant ideas? Thanx
  6. May also need an ariel adaptor from halfords, to convert female to male ariel. Looks like male plug on one end and female socket on the other. About 1.5inches long silver.
  7. The model is "ariel signal booster from halfords model pc5-52" It works fine for me
  8. I replaced my skoda symphony head unit with an aftermarket unit with mp3 etc. I had to disconnect the blue ariel lead from the original skoda multiplug and connect it to a "ariel signal booster from halfords model pc5-52". It all works fine but the problem is the car is a company car and im changing job so i need to put the original stereo back in. I cant remember where the blue ariel lead goes back to in the orginal multiplug. Anybody got any diagrams or drawings of the multiplug wiring? Cheers
  9. A cheap one from Argos, but its got mp3, usb and sd card playback and good file handling-
  10. I get the surface message sometimes when its cold in the morning. I guess its because a thin layer of moisture gets on the discs inside the changer overnight, you remove the magazine on a cold morning(wait a couple of months!) and feel how cold the cd's are. I remove the magazine and then replace it, and try again. Usually retifies the surface message. Its either that or the laser head has the moisture on it? Only happens to me on cold mornings never at any other time. I also get no cd messgaes sometimes even though ive got cds in the magazine. I do the same thing as above, usually fixes it. I listen to cds alot throughout the day, im a service engineer, so i spend probably on average 5-6 hours per day driving.
  11. Thanx vRS_Si, info was spot on. I got that ariel signal booster from halfords model pc5-52 if anyones interested. Also a small iso adaptor for ariel may be required because skoda ariel didnt fit new heat unit. (male ariel plug on one end, female ariel socket on other end, approx 2inches long) I removed the glove box to install new head unit as posted by someone else in these forums, made life much easier to hide cables at back.
  12. I didnt relise the orginal skoda wiring was iso. Many thanx.
