Given the blurb in the brochure does anyone know whether the Greenline model cars have any aerodynamic tweaks (other than suspension lowering) that could be used on a non-greenline FL car? Do they have more extensive underfloor shields/fairings etc? Given thay they appear to have the same mirrors, same radiator grill, no rear spolier I guess there's not much different.

I have just had my (variable service) FL Octavia (with a Maxi-dot display) serviced. When I go into the computer to get Service Interval Info the display says Service in --- miles or --- days. Is this correct? I queried this with the dealer technician who said this is correct but I thought it previously showed miles/days. He said this was because it had probably been accidently set to fixed service intervals (even though this was out to 20k miles and/or 712 days). The tech' said it will just come up with the miles and time when the oil degrades. I've never owned a car with a variable service system so thought you guys would know what's right and what's not. Can anyone offer any tips on how to remove the high level/ 3rd brake light and the big trim panel on the inside of the tailgate. There is washer fluid coming out from behind the trim and the washer jet has stopped working so I think the water pipe has become disconnected behind the jet. BTW - This is a FL Mk2 car.

Just been out with my tape measure and offer the following: Front = 376mm, Rear = 371mm Just to confirm this is a FL Octy 2 VRs Estate (TSI) (Boot empty aside from 205/55R16 steel spare and tool kit). I can understand why you wanted the measurement from the centre of the wheels as it removes tyre make and tread depth out of the equation but you might want to consider the measurements +/- 2mm in case I didn't get the tape right in the centre. And by the way I measured both left and right sides and no variation (what you expect of course). So how much have you dropped it by then?

You and me the same. I think the light in that compartment (in front of the gear stick - and the illumination for the 12V socket between the seats) has been removed from the FL cars - although since I can't figure out how to remove either the light cover or the compartment itself, (or the 12v power socket) I don't know whether the electrical supply is there to allow retrofit or not. Any ideas?

Somermatt - Have been able to try some 16 inch wheels yet? If so how did you get on. If you fancy selling your 17ins can you let me know please as I am on the look out for a set.

You've got a maxidot display. The oil temperature displays 3 dashes until the oil temp actually gets to 50 deg Celius or above - then it actually displays the no.s.

Does anybody know the part number and the off-set of the 17inch Pegasus alloy wheels as fitted to the Octavia Sport (and probably others)?

I'm running a FL vRS (petrol) estate and the performance of the automatic volume adjustment (GALA) function within my standard Bolero stereo is next to useless. I've set the compensation/adjustment level up as high as possible but it makes next to no difference. When I set the radio/CD volume whilst stationary by the time I get to 40mph I can barely hear it. Equally if I set it to a volume I can hear at 60mph it's way too loud when I am stationary. It is almost like the volume compensation/adjustment profile is nearly flat (or set for a small car with very little cabin noise). Has anyone found this? The GALA function in my Mk1 vRS worked perfectly. I will be mentioning it to the dealer on the next visit but would be interested to hear others experiences.

I'd be interested to know what the ride comfort is like. I think my (std) one is too high but the ride over small bumps is already somewhat jarring and wouldn't think lower would make it any better. Do the Koni FSDs iron out the smaller bumps as I' d be sorely tempted if they do (otherwise I'll be looking for some 17ins. Cheers.

My Bolero brightness seems to adjust itself soon after starting and sometimes would be brighter than I thought I had set it. This was when it was very cold and I put it down to the fact that maybe the unit has a heater which is triggered at very low temperatures to make the screen the visible. This may result in the brightness being brighter than set but once the screen has warmed up properly the heater turns off and the brightness returns to the actual brightness setting. I'm not coming from a point of specialist knowledge, it's just a hunch.

I've got a FL vRS estate and there appears to a small light in the storage comparment immediately in front of the gear lever (optionally an ash tray on some vehicles I guess). Is this actually a light because it never illuminates (regardlesss of whether the cover is open or the vehicle lights are on). Is this compartment illuminated on anyone elses car? Additionally does anyone know what standard of car comes with a cupholder in the rear of the 'high/tall' centre console - cup holder for rear seat passengers. The vRS just has a large storage tray and I wonder whether I could get it swopped out for the cupholder.
