  1. I am also very keen to know this - as it means a reduction of 4% on BIK company tax if so. I have been patiently waiting for the new passat engines to be announced. So far they are all marked as "no" for RDE2 compliant, but I was hoping the 2l TDI EVO SCR might get RDE2 compliance.
  2. I am considering a 1.5TSI engine for my next company car. Does anyone have any thoughts on pairing this engine with the DSG? I look forward to hearing from people who have actually driven the 1.5TSI superb and would love to know more MPG feedback.
  3. I claim 15p a mile whether its a petrol or diesel. I was basing my back of an envelope calculations on a 1.5tsi being 45mpg and 2.0tdi 52mpg (roughly what I get now).
  4. Really interesting, thank you. I certainly haven't ruled out the 1.5TSI yet.
  5. For my mileage the savings in BIK on petrol is pretty much cancelled out by the fuel saving. I also hate filling up - so bigger range of diesel appeals. I dont have to deal with the dealers fortunately, that is all sorted by lease company. I sat in a new passat GT and I found the interior stunning compared to my current superb. But I think part of that is just wanting something different. I think both cars are great, and hopefully the 1.6 diesel might come along soon.
  6. I was helped a lot on this forum 4 years ago when picking my company car which is now due to go back - 64 plate Superb Estate Elegance. I am now picking its replacement. Considering a Passat vs Superb. I am swaying towards a Passat SE business just for a change more than anything. I am also looking at the superb SE Technology and SEL, or paying a bit more tax for a Passat GT (that sunroof ). Either way, with the hikes to BIK and WLTP I am going to be paying more in tax and would like to keep it down. I am hoping the 1.6 diesel engines will be WLTP tested soon and have scrape into lower BIK bands. Does anyone know what the delay with the 1.6 is? Any rumours on when the figures might be out? Thanks
  7. Superb estate SE technology is now in the configurator but not in brochure / pricelist.
  8. Following with great interest. Thank you for all your helpful posts so far. I recently installed a phone charger using a piggy pack fuse. Using a similar 12v socket to what you are using which is velcro taped inside the fuse box. Considering just using one of these splitters http://www.amazon.co.uk/Triple-Splitter-Charger-Adapter-Supply-Black/dp/B003YTSS4Y to run one phone charger and one power lead to a mobius. Do you think that sounds reasonable?
  9. Car is brand new, delivered a couple of weeks ago.
  10. Hi, Searched for ages but seem to be getting mixed answers. Got my new suberb last week but music played from SD card is not showing album art. Haven't tried streaming from phone by BT for music stored on phone yet. Have also streamed music from Spotify on my phone over bluetooth but I get no artist/track information - just BT Audio. Any ideas? TIA.
  11. My recently delivered 140 Elegance in Cappucino / Ivory with tinted rear windows
  12. Thanks for your advice. I have ruled out the standard bypass relay quote. For my cheapest quote using the "dedicated wiring kit" (£469) I have been told the following: "We use Westfalia electrics, which are OE spec for VW/Skoda vehicles, they are top quality and will do all you ask." Sherlocks - does this sound like the same part that would normally be fitted to a skoda superb?
  13. Just wanted to add - the cheap £469 company were one of the ones listed on the Witter website as approved fitters.
  14. I am excitedly awaiting delivery of my superb elegance next week. I am planning to have a towbar fitted straight away. After following some advice on hear I did not order the "tow bar preparation" with the car. I have received several quotes after specifying a detachable swan neck towbar, 13 pin electrics with dedicated wiring kit and the fitter to include recoding the car so that it knows it is towing and activates/deactivates various features. Most quotes have come in around £700 but I have had one for £469. This supposedly still includes the dedicated wiring kit and the recode. I have also had one fitter quote £415 but using a standard bypass relay rather than a dedicated kit. They told me they did a superb recently this way and it worked very well. They have also asked what functionality I hoped to get with the dedicated wiring that a standard bypass relay wouldnt allow. Just looking for any advice really. Obviously the quote for £469 looks great. Is there any questions I should be asking? Located in Cambridgeshire. Thanks
  15. Got the go ahead to get an elegance so I have ordered the 140, cappuccino beige with ivory leather, tinted windows, spare wheel, and sunset glass.
  16. I am soon to be ordering a Skoda Superb Estate Elegance 140 as my next company car. Just going through options and noticed Luggage Compartment Cover (£60). The photo makes it look like the pull over cover that estate cars have, but surely this would be included on all models? Could anyone clarify for me?
  17. Also - with the amundsen unit (RNS315) would I also have control of phone/radio etc via Maxidot?
  18. For the past 3 days I have had a demo 2.0L 140 Elegance. Really loved the leather interior and now I want it! Also found the engine very responsive and giving excellent fuel economy so heading towards that over the greenline. I have been trying to find pictures of the alcantara/leather seats that I would get in the SE Business but cant really find any. Does anyone have any?
  19. Thats great to hear! I would be really interested to hear about your towbar fitting and how you get on pulling the Pathfinder.
  20. Hi Greenline owners. Any thoughts on towing with this engine? I am hoping to tow a folding camper, max weight 1000kg. I am undecided whether to get the 2.0 140 or the greenline.
  21. Thanks for your input. I do need to make a decision between the 1.6 and 2.0 however it does seem that the greenline will perfectly capable of towing my folding camper,. I have found a lot of information about towbars by searching. I believe the towbar preparation is not necessary as the towbar fitter can do this (cheaper. My fitter has confirmed they will use vehicle specific wiring kit and also recode the vehicle so that all the electrics work correctly.
  22. I did not realise the seats were half leather - thats great. The Amunsden with DAB looks sufficient for my needs, especially as I tend to use Waze Android app for sat nav. Towing with the 1.6 has been a concern and I need to do more research but the folding camper is lighter and more aerodynamic than a carvan and the specs of the Skoda look fine. I also found this article, although I can see the car is slightly different with a 5 speed gear box: http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/8488111/ccmfebcartest.pdf Extras would have to come out of my own pocket so I am unlikely to get the lights and heated seats. Saying that the lease price willl be a hell of a lot less than a 3 series or A4 so maybe I can swing it..
