  1. okay thanks...i dont suppose you would know if the boot light runs 12v ?
  2. Thanks, Im not sure about the cracks or breaks - it would be quite noisy if there was id assume so I don't think so, although when I bought the car a year ago there was an advisory that the exhaust was in poor condition.
  3. Hi guys, My exhaust is looking a bit tired with rust and deposits flaking off and ideally it could do with replacing. So that I'm not ripped off in any garage what is the approx I should be paying parts and labour for a new exhaust system? (I have a Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP 2003 reg) thanks, Regards,
  4. Oh, :/ thanks - at least i now know i'm not going mad or blind!
  5. Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP 03 Reg - 12v boot socket? Hi All, can someone please let me know exactly where the 12v boot socket is located on my Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP please? I've searched all over and cannot find it! Thanks, Leo
  6. thanks and that camera would be great, but alas - I have this one........... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AFAU5DM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
  7. okay thanks. would the car still be legal though with only one reg plate light?
  8. I have bought a reversing camera for my Skoda fabia. Is it safe to assume that as far as the power goes, I need to be splicing into the cable for the reversing lights? Next question, it comes two metal screws - presumably they are not expecting me to make a hole through the metal of the car? (hopefully) thanks,
  9. Hi everyone, Can someone please tell me if fitting the following: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00R2NSPWS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01 with this fascia: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004TW7Q9S?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 will work? I have a Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP (03 reg) And if so, does anyone know if there any guides around on how to do this? (It's my first attempt at fitting a car stereo!) thanks in advance Leo
  10. Hi all, Can someone more learned than I tell me how I can go about 'bleeding' the air out fo the brakes of my Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP (03 Reg) The brake fluid is topped up but there is a fair amount of travel in the brakes. I've tried "pumping" the brakes when stationary and with the engine on but this doesnt seem to work and if anything has made it worse! thanks! Leo
  11. Thanks.... i'll give it another try this weekend.
  12. :S oh dear......well at least the valves have probably had a good clean out..... i'll take it out again this weekend on a test run and see if i can find 5th. Thanks for your help :-)
  13. Hmmm, im wondering then if I was in 3rd gear? (new driver here!) ....but then, would 3rd gear take me up to 65mph? Regarding the valve count......i'm not 100% sure; It's a Fabia 1.2 HTP (2003) Classic. 54Bhp, Hope that helps?
  14. Yes indeed, I went on my first long-ish haul trip over the weekend and I was doing 65mph on the motorway in 5th (or at least I think I was in 5th!) but the rev counter was way over 5000rpm (almost touching the red part of the dial !
  15. lol....ok. Next question is: synthetic or semi-synthetic oil, or does that not matter?
  16. Hello all, I am guessing as the Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP is not a 'super-car' that I would not need to use RON98 petrol (in particular) Shell's V-Power Nitro+ Unleaded as opposed to RON95 standard unleaded. My question is - Is it 'okay' to use RON 98 and will it bring any performance benefits to the car? Cheers, Leo
  17. Thanks guys for your response and hmmm yes I'll take it out then! Last question.....when im travelling along and I first put my foot on the clutch. (I mean when I just place my foot on the pedal before applying any pressure) I feel a vibration coming from it. Is this 'normal' ?
  18. Hello All, My name is Leo, im a 34 year old British male living in London and I've been the proud owner of my Skoda Fabia 1.2HTP (2003) (Manual transmission) model for just over 2 weeks. This is also my first car as I passed my test in february this year. I do have a question: there is a hole on the floor, just to the rear, right hand side of the passenger seat. - Does anyone know what this is for? Being safety conscious I bought 2 emergency glass hammers / seat belt cutters, one of which I keep in the glove box in the front, the other in the rear, but as the seats have no magazine holders in the back I found this hole which was just the right fit for the bright orange hammer. (the hammer is the orange bit youll see sticking out of the hole in the attached pic.) I am wondering though......what is this hole actually for? thanks, Regards, Leo
