  1. Good Evening KB et al, Update on my situation - I have had my tailgate replaced/repainted FOC by Skoda. However, they would not entertain any repairs to my rusting lines due to the rear door rubbers. To be fair one side had been painted by previous owner by Skoda dealership. Still wondering what to do with these given this was a car I didn't want to spend too much time/effort/money on. I was even thinking hammerite smooth direct to rust paint just to protect/seal to slow things down. Any thoughts on this approach? would it work on top of car paint, given that you wouldn't see it from the outside with the doors shut anyway? Also like others, I have some rust on front sills as well which again Skoda would not entertain due to stonechips....
  2. KB, Had my Octy 2 2007 1.9 PD 105 estate just over a week now and I'm amazed at the amount of rust. I've noted rust in the following similar areas : Front sills, stone chips on rear door skin and rear boot lid have rusted, along rear hatch join above rear number plate and like you I have the rusting lines on the rear arches from the rear door rubbers. TBH impressed by the car mechanics and economy but not the bodywork/rust proofing! Has anybody had any joy from Skoda in getting these sorted under warranty....watching this thread with interest.
  3. Hi All, Just thought I'd say hi to fellow forum members, I'm a new owner of an 07 Octavia TDi 1.9 PD 105 estate with 120k on the clock. I've bought it as a bit of a workhorse for a year or so - currently enjoying the 55mpg economy after a non-economical 170tdi Audi A4! Cheers, Rob
