  1. Thanks, thats exactly what I was told, the car itself is an ex Europcar one and has done over 17,000 miles. Have since booked it in at a more local garage and is going to cost £120.
  2. Is it customary for the dealer ( Simpsons of Colne ) to service a car before selling it regardless of age or time between services, I checked the service book and it shows it was stamped last January so it is def due. I just assumed it would be 12 months from when we drove the car away from them which was June. Am I wrong in thinking that ? If we decide to have it done by them they have quoted £129 if its the 10,000 mile service or else £199.
  3. Crikey, the only one I would know is how many miles I've done. Think I'd better wait til I get home and give the garage a call Thanks anyway
  4. Hi, had 2nd hand Roomy (its a '63 plate) since last June, the dash is showing the spanner, number 1 and also showing number 12. So that means 12 days to an oil change, yes ? Is 6 months a normal interval ? assuming that it was serviced before I bought it. Currently at work so cant ring the garage yet, just wondered if anyone could give me a heads up ? Thanks
  5. Hi everyone, I am loving my roomy skodster so far, one problem I have found though is this, opening the door while the car is wet means it drips into the interior because of the way the door fits into the bodywork, poor design if you ask me.
  6. I will experiment with various things ( marker, felt tip, thinned paint, etc..) on some old bit of glass, thanks for the suggestions
  7. Thanks, what about the tint, is that repairable too ?
  8. Hi, I had a couple of bikes in the back of Roomy the other day and one of them has scratched the rear passenger window, only a small scratch but the tint has come off and it might have "etched" the glass too. I need to work on my technique of putting bikes in I think Does anyone know if it can it be repaired easily ?
  9. Unfortunately I scratched the rear passenger window with bike in the back of Roomy, its taken some of the tint off and not sure if its "etched" the window as well. Its not a big scratch but would rather not have any if possible, very annoyed with myself letting it happen, any ideas if its repairable ? Posted in Roomster Forum too.
  10. Never thought about the humidity before, makes sense
  11. Hi, is it still necessary to run the air con every now and then regardless of whether you need it on or not? just asking, as a friend is having problems with it on his Golf
  12. I,ve just moved in the opposite direction, from a Suzuki to Roomster, had it for 10 years and was, on the whole, very reliable.
  13. No I havent taken it out yet but I will now, thanks for the heads-up. :sun:
  14. Attached a pic, hopefully the measurements speak for themselves
  15. Aready had a look, couldnt find what I wanted.
  16. Hi, I have a Suzuki Ignis (for sale) but its got a floppy sun visor, Suzuki want about 50 big ones for a new one, so I was wondering if anyone knows of another make that would fit, then if I go to the nearest scrapper I have some options in case there's no Ignis' there. Unless can anyone think of a way to make it work Do I get the longest word of the day award
  17. That's good then. I find it strange that even space savers are an optional extra these days but then again it is 10 years since I bought a new car, just hope Roomy is as reliable as my Suzuki Ignis that it replaces
  18. Maybe I'll pick one up but its not a priority, what I did get was a full size spare wheel, which it says are not standard in the brochure, were they standard on the 2013 models ?
  19. Feel better that its what its supposed to be, to be honest, I'm not that bothered about the 'boot thingy' probably more hassle than its worth. I just hope I can get my and my partners mountain bikes in there easily enough ( stood up without taking any wheels off ) anyone experience of bikes in the back?
  20. I bet that's how it went missing in the first placeWhat should there be in the tool/repair kit ? (Those brochures confuse me, especially if they don't cover the 2013 models)
  21. Yes its got the sun roof and parking sensors, they are a genuine Skode dealer so probably wouldn't try to pull the wool over my eyes but they are sales people so I naturally don't trust them lol. Mine didn't have the curved storage thingy in the boot either and when I asked about it he said they are an optional extra, again, not that important but just another curious thing.
  22. Hello everyone, just bought a 9 month old "Roomy Skodsta" in metallic muscovado from a dealer in Colne, the car wasn't actually in stock at the time so kind of bought it blind. So far I like it a lot It was sold as an SE 1.2 tsi 85, however, reading through the specs in the current brochure it says it should have a 3 spoke steering wheel but mine has the 4 spoke, not a major problem but it got me wondering if its a genuine SE, it has the tsi badge on the back but no other badge. Apparently it was a demonstrator if that makes a difference. What do you think ?
