Have you tried to get a price of a new rear bumper? I had some scrape marks on my Fabia MK1 bumper (Again some unknown persons) and the body shop quoted something like £150, just out of interest, I costed up a replacement colour matched bumper and actually was a lot cheaper. In the the end, found that the damage wasn't that serious so sorted it out myself

Same here, had a quote from the AA a few years back for a Fiat Punto 1.2 - and that was some silly figure like £700.

Nice to hear someone actually getting the claimed MPG, only seen a handful of new Fabia's, if anything I've seen more Roomsters over the past month. With economy now in downturn , don't expect to see that many new cars around.

A 125 bike or scooter is ideal for short commutes - I used to have a Honda CB125 twin and did 10 miles round trip commute every day. A scooter will give you a bit more protection around the legs when it rains. For something longer distance and dual carriage roads etc then a 250 is ideal.

Not even that, £5,000 at the most if its fully working,and then the buyer got to be into early Japanese '90s 4x4s in a big way. Not a really sought after model.

I know a couple of people who have given up things like their classic cars because of increasing costs - Classic Car Weekly has no end of cars like Jaguars for sale. Whats been very noticable over the past year or so is the amount of small cars on the road like Citroen C1's, and a garage near to me is chock full of 4x4s and sports cars.

Had the first MOT today done on the Fabia - it passed but with two advisory items - n/s and o/s front bonded suspension deteriorated but functional - not had chance to go underneath to have a look. Is this something to do with corrosion on the suspension - tbh I'm not really suprised given that they salted the roads continually from October to end of March around here, even with weekly jet washes it's a continual battle!

If the pension is a good one, then I would take it and enjoy the time you have, lets hope you make a good recovery

Yes did that and didnt get much tea n sympathy so to speak anyway the situation has bee resolved, and its all go !

Ok really need some advice here. Won a car off eBay last Sat had look and car was ok and wrote a cheque for half the price and agreed to collect in a couple of weeks. Seller returned the cheque since didn't sign it - but since I found that got no room to store it (apparently was going have the driveway extended but they never turned up) and contacted the seller if they would mutually withdraw - seller said they wouldnt agree to withdraw and basically stated as you have entered a legally binding contract to buy the car etc, so they have now filed a unpaid dispute on eBay and also said they are going to take legal action to the small claims court. I dont think what will say to them will make any difference so would really like some legal advice here so any one with experience of this can you send me a PM ?So do 1 take the hit buy it and then sell it on 2) Challenge their threat and go to SCC? Auto Express did a test recently for so called eco cars, for the Skoda Greenline, claimed economy was 68.9 mpg, test mpg was 49.5 while CO2 emissions was 153g/Km (Claimed CO2 109 g/Km)

Petrol around here is now reaching into the 1.10 mark, diesel 1.23, seen petrol at 1.17 on the motorway stations.
