  1. I just did mine today, only took half hour. I took out the air box to make it handier for refilling. 2009 vrs tdi 6MT. Allen key on mine.
  2. This unit is tempting to me also, with the built in ''everything'' unlike the columbus where add ons have to be purchased like gps and bluetooth module, not to mention the price difference. Sure its an ''eastern'' part of the world unit but Rob in icebox seems contactable in the uk, which would lessen the suck it and see attitude of buying from the far east hoping it will work. As it was mentioned before the chinese units have come a long way in reliability the past few years. So judging by the website if you have a bolero or stream headunit the ds820 and m005 will fit no problem.
  3. Great stuff lads, thanks for the quick response
  4. I have pre fl '09 Vrs with maxidot, and I want to fit a Columbus as Im getting fed up of using my phone for maps as I do a lot of driving. 1) Will all Columbus units work in my car? (I know about the power drain on older mk2's) 2) Is it simply a plug and play ? 3) I know I need a new facia plate, is there anything else I need? Much apreciated
  5. Update: Got a scan done and it came up no power going to central locking convenience ECU So done the following: Dropped glove box down about 6-8inches ( did not need to disconnect anything eg aircon hose/light/airbag connection) The module is a black box just left of centre in a vertical position with two connector looms pluged into it. I checked the cables and area for moisture and damage, I then pushed the connections in tight to the module. Then I heard what sounded like all the window motors checking the windows were closed. Verdict: I may possibly need a new module in the future and if I do I know the part number For my octavia its 1K0959433BT And only a 10-15 min job But for now everything is working properly
  6. Yea VCDS would be my best bet, im still saving for one tho. I do need a new rear wiper motor cos it has given up the ghost (a bit of a joke on a 2009 car), tried the WD but the motor is very tired and wont move when the wiper is attatched. Could the both be related?
  7. Thanks adamal for your quick reply, but just took loom off and grommet no broken wires ,all look in good nick
  8. This morning I had to manual lock my octavia when i went to the shops, I didnt notice anything wrong initialy but when I went through the car I found the following: Driver side door window controls, only driver window working other 3 not being controlled but will work on their own door. Auto lock when driving not working Remote central locking not working Anyone had a similar experience?
