  1. Believe me, I am not happy with it. The stripped, checked and reassembled the brakes and this made it worse. It in the hands of the dealership management now.
  2. Mine does the same. Was in the dealership yesterday and they checked it. "Characteristic" apparently as two stock Yetis did the same as did an Octavia demonstrator. Cheers Rog
  3. Resetting the windows made no difference so the windows and mirrors are still the same
  4. The oil temp is something that is working OK. I've tried most things myself now but just wonder is there's something I might not have thought of that has also been affected...?
  5. Thanks for that info. I'll try it tomorrow and let you know.
  6. I had my cluster replaced and apparently the delaer had a hard time coding it (they had Skoda working on it for three days) but since I got it back there are a few little issues: - one of the keys won't always start the car (they had both keys for coding) - the one shot up and down on the windows doesn't work - the mirrors won't fold when locking with either key The dealer has the car booked back in to sort these items but my concern is what else might not be working that I might not have noticed. I have specifically asked them to check everything and to make sure that specification specific items are double checked (auto wipers, auto lights, adaptive lights, etc) but does anyone know what else may have been affected?
  7. I'm a coach driver and coach drivers all wave at other coach drivers (but not at bus drivers of course) so a Yeti driver waving at me wouldn't seem all that odd to me
  8. To view other things on the Maxidot while navigating you need to press the menu button on the MFSW to go back. You can then choose whatever Maxidot function you want to display.

    The Yeti Smile

Quartz Grey is a great colour (I might be biased). It has hints of blue or green in it depending on the light. I'm really pleased with it.

    Leather Noise

This is for the dashboard so plastic rather than leather. It was just when everything "dry" was marketed as being for bike chains I wondered what the difference was. I've seen the mess WD40 can make of a dirty bike chain so hoped the bike lubes would be ok but don't want to mess up the dashboard of a new car!

    Leather Noise

Is all dry lube the same? Popped into town at lunch time and found lots of dry lube for bikes and dry lube pfte but nothing that said it was dry lube silicone. Are all these things the same? Is WD40 a dry lube? Sorry if a silly question but don't want to end up making a shiny wet mess of my dashboard!

    The Yeti Smile

The smile is why I'm on my second one. Such an easy car to live with and I love the chunky looks. Dabbled with an Alfa between the two Yetis and regretted it. You couldn't find a car more opposite to a Yeti!
  13. I saw that from the specs but wondered what the difference looked like side by side?
  14. Has anyone got a good photo of a Yeti side by side with a Freelander 1? My fave car that I've owned was a Freelander 1 and in mamy ways the Yeti feels a bit like this. I've never seen a good shot of the two side by side though so would be keen to see any that people may have.
  15. Oops sorry! My bad. My car is Quartz Grey. I posted without reading your post properly! Sorry...
  16. Mine's not got a black roof but should give you some idea. (See attachment) I think it's a really good colour. It's sensible enough so it won't date over time but really pops in bright sunlight and looks like it has either a hint of blue or green depending on the sky! My wife likes it too - which is an achievement as she normally detests my car colour choices! :-)

    Tough?

Are Yeti's any tougher underneath than other Skodas? I know that you can get protection for underneath but I mean the actual hardware. eg Are suspension, etc components any more heavy duty than on an Octavia for example? Obviously, most don't go even close to offroad but do Skoda build them to be able to?

    Leather Noise

That's my point - I must be looking in the wrong place as I see no gap...

    Leather Noise

Thanks for that. I've had a look at the other posts and am not 100% clear where the silicone needs to go? Do I need to disassemble anything or am I just aiming for a gap?

    Leather Noise

Managed to stop it for now. I have put a microfibre cloth between the bottom of the backrest and the seat base and all is now silent in the back. The rata-tat-tat has gone. Now need to figure out a permanent fix for it but at least it's stopped doing my head in. So, the little rattle/buzz that's started in the driver's side of the dash next... My old Yeti was 5 years old when it went and had no rattles. My new Yeti has only done 600 miles and is already annoying. I hope this isn't a bad sign...

    Leather Noise

Thanks for the tips guys. It's not the seatbelts as I did them up and ot still did it. The sides of the middle seat are fabric where they meet the outer seat and I think it might be where the seatback meets the base so I might try some leather conditioner there. It might not be there but it's somewhere to start. Nice to know it's not just me!
  22. Hi The last couple of weeks the back seat in my Yeti has started making a racket. It sounds like a rattle but I think it is actually the leather (or faux leather) sides of the seats rubbing/touching. If I slide the OS outer rear seat forward and back again the noise stops for a few days. Anyone else had this? Any fixes? Dealer's going to have a look when they next have the car in but in the meantime it's driving me nuts.

    Arm rest

I put an Armster in a Fiesta I had a few years back. Install was straight forward and armrest lasted fine until I chopped the car in for my next one after about 18 months.
