  1. Mine is staying in as it says 'disabled' and Nil on it so I will not have to pay in some car parks locally. Until someone convinces me that the parking Nazis have ANPR so won't ticket me for non payment it stays. To remove the glue from the old holders use WD40, it will remove the glue with ease.
  2. Just for a different perspective I have the Elegance 75 with automated gearbox. I am as yet (till run in) leaving the car to it's own devices. Currently am on 44 to the gallon according to the PID. I however have only done 130 miles or so. I know this will improve as the mileage increases and everything beds in. Well impressed with the robotised manual, had a Smart which had a similar set up, but no where near as intuative. I love the fact it will go from 5th to 3rd in one hit and drops cogs under braking when going down hills. So far thrilled with mine. It is a great design well executed, why would anyone buy a Polo or similar when this car does all one requires and more. Oh, the six speaker package is a must imho. The 'drug dealer' glass makes the green one stand out a bit. Not many green ones down here in Cornwall (yet).
  3. After what has seemed an interminable wait I finally pick my Spring Green elegance auto up on Wednesday at 10.00 am. I went for the drug dealer glass, raised boot floor & extra speakers ( I like noise!! The louder the better) Have seen the car in the flesh, fresh off the transporter have got a photo which I will try to add, though don't hold your breath. Looking forward to meeting up with others from Cornwall; get in touch folks. How about a get together at Smokey Joes?? It's not smokey (anymore) & the owner isn't called Joe, go figure. Drop me a line if interested. Getting a bit excited now, can't wait till Wednesday. Philip.
  4. Hi again, just checked this thread, realised that I have not been that active recently. :dull: Leon Y-K, am getting a Citygo Elegance auto in green with ivory inside. Must meet up at some point, want to look over your car as possibly interested in buying a 3.6 Superb. They seem to be very rare (understandably) as the use I would give it the fuel consumption would not be an issue. Only fly in ointment as far as meets are concerned is I work Fri - Sat - Sun - Mon nights so mid week best for me. See you soon. Philip.
  5. Possible for me, though I work most week ends I do still have to take time off every now & then. Midlands probably best for me even though I live in Cornwall. One week nearer getting my car. Excitement building!!! 7 weeks to go!!! (Or so).
  6. Impressed so far, they fielded my questions well, did everything they could during the ordering process, even though the car is a Motability one. Have kept me up to date with the car's build process. Hope the after care is as good. I can understand Rapidronnie's points, the business is not ideally located having three sites on the same street. This is a historical issue, I am sure that in time they will move to a single site and put everything under one roof. They are miles better than Carrs at Indian Queens. Was made to feel very unwelcome and looked down upon just because I was asking about a Motability car. Having said that I am a happy customer of another of the Carrs group of garages, notably Mercedes Of Truro. You win some, you lose some.
  7. Sounds like a plan, will be in touch. Philip.
  8. So sad that no one turned up, unfortunatly we are big on apathy down here from my experience. I had similar problems with both car clubs I was involved with. Having said that, Although I am waiting for delivery of my new Skoda in September and currently do not have one, if anyone wants to organise something mid week, then count me in. Due to work I find weekends a bit of a no-no. I am in Redruth, and am always open to a natter. Kettle permanently filled up. Philip.
  9. 80% here, and not that knowlegable about Skoda history, other than the fact it is long and they used to make cars for the European Royalty. A proud history, one that is, happily on the up again. Mind you I used ot own one of the Estell's. Hideously unreliable, went everyware with containers of water just to keep it cool. Not always succesfully :swear:.
  10. Thanks for all the good wishes. I also think that the Spring Green is a good colour on the Citygo. I know what you mean with the lighter interior, but I am used to cleaning them as I am not a great lover of black so tend to avoid it as a trim. Very nearly went for the Silver leaf, but have has so many default silver Mercedes I wanted a change. Though having said that My Land Rover is red & my classic Merc is burgundy, so go figure! I know there are some green Citygo's in Cornwall, I have yet to see one though. Anyone else down here? I am based in Redruth and work down the Lizard. It would be nice to meet another Citygo owner just to compare notes. Philip.
  11. Roll on mid September, not that I am wishing my life away, but then I will be in posesion of a NEW Citygo Elegance 75ps Auto. The car will be finished in Spring Green metalic, ivory interior with drug dealer glass, raised boot floor & extra speakers. This is the first time ever that I have ordered a new car and am so looking forward to it arriving. Whilst I may not own the car as such, I am grateful to the people at Motability for the chance to get a new car easily. It will also be an interesting excersize finding out what Skoda garages are like. I have had for many years cars from the German opposition, mostly those with the 3 pointed gun sight on the bonnet. Trouble is I do not like the direction the maker is going especially their tie up with my least favourite maker, Renault. At least (as far as I know) the Volkswagen group keeps their stuff in house, so here's hoping. Rather fancy a top spec Yeti too, buit that can wait for a bit.
  12. Hello to one and all. Whilst not a Skoda owner (as yet) I thought I would join up so I can ask irritationg questions. I intend to order later this month a Citigo Elegance AGS in Spring Green, with Ivory interior. I am still muddling through the options and have settled on the following. Variable boot floor, we have a Labrador so this is a must. Tinted Glass and possibly the speaker upgrade. Has anyone got this option and does it make any improvement to the sound system? I am also concidering cruise, but the packages are being changed and dealer is not sure about costs, yet. Anyone got this with the auto? If so does it react with the transmission to change down on hills for engine braking? Getting a bit excited, will be off to order in a couple of weeks or so.
