The Latest Skoda maps are at best 2 years behind. They are never entirely up to date on the day of release for a number of reason's! No navigation is ever up to date for any vehicle manufacturer and that includes Tom Tom devices! The Latest map for the UK and part of Europe 5gb is "STD2_1310_EU1_201945.zip" For all of Europe and Eastern Europe you will need a 32gb SD card for this map "STD2_1310_EUA1_201945.zip" I have all maps for WK45 the latter part of 2019!

No need to format or remove any data as it is overwritten with the same file format! it just updates with the latest data that Skoda has, Don't expect it to be right up to date though. as the data appears at least a year behind!

I think you have missed the point of this thread Rodge This thread started off with "Charge by driving" shown on the display! However if you read further this has not been successful. This has been quite an interesting read and a learning curve for those interested. I thank "Gregoir" for enlightening us with his experience and other members which have contributed some very informative tips! I also agree with you that it may been working as it should, however without asking other members here for there opinion / advice then no one would learn anything from it!

SWBoy is right with his thinking! If an AGM battery is replaced then the replacement battery Serial number must also be changed in the "Battery management module", in your case I would do as SWBoy suggests. This may cure the issue you have. Of course you would need access to a VCDS kit

Perhaps you need to have the have the battery or it's connections checked! you need to find out why the "Charge by driving! info is there! AGM batteries now fitted are unlike previous batteries from the past, High current is required at any moment in time, due to the demand of the stop/start feature, and require special attention not to drop volts below 9 I believe, a replacement AGM battery for stop/start vehicles are extraordinarily expensive to replace. I learned this as I had left a dash cam on in the vehicle for 1 week (holiday break) and came back to an almost completely dead battery and I was unable to re-charge the battery with a standard battery charger, The vehicle would not start with a jump start either. Fortunately a industrial high current battery charger brought the battery back to life overnight, but it was quite worrying.

Make sure you pick up the SD card for GPS navigation, there is a shortage of them at Skoda! I had to order mine after finding it was not with the vehicle!

Collected from the Skoda dealer today 29 Nov 2013. I am absolutely delighted with the new Skoda which I collected today, after a 5 month wait for delivery, just one niggle the vehicle has as standard an Amundesen Infotainment Navigation system, however Skoda allegedly are unable to supply the maps or the SD card due to demand for the new MKIII, in order for it to function. I was told there is a backlog of 1 million SD cards required? how odd is that!! I made a comment to the dealer and mentioned that in the meantime Skoda are advising me to get lost until such time as they can provide the maps on a SD Card!! Question1: Is there a shortage of SD cards? Question 2: are they of a specific manufacture? (I doubt it) Question 3: should I download the maps required and install then onto any high speed SD card? Skoda cannot advise me when I will have receipt of the aforementioned data or card! A bit of a poor show as I had specifically purchased the Elegance Model for this and other creature comforts! Apart from this little niggle I am delighted to have yet another Octavia Can anyone comment on this?
