Hi just fitted a set of HIDs direct smart HIDs to my mum's Monte as she's been moaning about the lights and when I first did the search I found a thread that said something about it would need coding afterwards to change a shutter line of code if I remember correctly otherwise it might damage the wiper motor. I've looked all over and can't find the thread again but can anyone confirm if I do need to do any coding and if so what I need to change. My friend has VCDS so could do help but I'd have to find out what he would need to change first. Any help appreciated, thanks Matt

Not sure how old my kit is would guess 3 years possibly but is still new and boxed, I might buy some other bulbs for it and fit to my works van then. By the looks of it come payday the terminator kit will be going on then.. Thanks for the help.

That's the kit he said would be a good starting point but couldn't gaurentee it, did you wire it straight in to the bulb wires or run it through a relay? Is yours the 35W kit?

Has anybody had issues with fitting HIDS on 14 plate fabia or if you have fitted them could you link the exact kit please? I bought a kit off "matty lee" on here which he had bought for his VRS fabia but never fitted and was advertised as a canbus error free kit however when I came to fit the kit I fitted one side and tested it and it worked for 5 sec or so then flickered and went off so I fitted the other side and then neather of them worked atall. I then tested them direct on to the battery and both lit and worked fine for 10sec or so although it did make the fan on the car come on (engine running). Today I spoke to HIDs direct after abit of advise and the guy said that it sounded like it was a canbus error problem and that they had been having no end of trouble with the new BMWs amd the 13-14plate VAG stuff and that he couldn't really 100% say any kit would work but said to do some research on the forums. My GF has just picked up her Fabia today and I'm looking to fit Bluetooth hands free for her as she needs it for work really (community nurse) so will be in the car quite a bit, I took the Parrot out of her old car but have found this thread and was just wondering two things. 1. Can the abouve retrofit be fitted without the MFSW? 2. If I fit a Parrot will the reverse sensor display still work or will I need a special harness? Lastly when you say maxidot is this the display in the center of the cluster with the MPG, temp etc on? My phone is displayed here on my 5.1 transporter but uses the right hand stork to control it, guessing this may be the same on the fabia. I have a button on the under side of the right stork to answer and confirm selections, haven't checked if this is the same in the skoda but guess so.
