  1. I can only answer for myself on that .. when u get some time to yourself ..Weekend jaunts to the countryside and u like to have a little pleasure while winding thru the countryside oh and the spec.in the 230 Vrs is pretty good..leather electric adjustable heated seats .. diff on the steering ..etc..oh and the fact that everywhere you look theres Fords.. Golfs or Audi or Bmw etc....not many Vrs...so i like that.each to their own i suppose...Sure in this era if u live in a city u dont need to own a car ..just use one of those car sharing online apps...buses, taxis ..cycle or walk.but not for me im a lazy git ...and i like cars:)Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  2. In response to all above including my previous post...i should have stated that my Diesel was a Vrs mk3 and lots of short journeys and was a 3 month old ex demo/sales managers car...so maybe the way it was driven previous to me purchasing may also have had a negative impact ..but i too confirm the regens use up fuel and in my case were frequent enough to bother me..and light came on fairly regular ..NOT dreaded one where it goes into limp mode and u have to get the car regened in a garage!!.as i said it did happen regular enough..but i am a low mileage and city dweller...and i agree i never got to see the large mpg as they seem to only occur if u are on motorways over a long cruise..well thats what i used to keep telling myself when i had the mk3 Diesel Vrs..On another point..in Republic of Ireland Diesels are the Vrs you are most likely to see..and goes for most large engines here due to tax and insurance costs..so future value may also be a point to bear in mind..regardless they drop in value as soon as u drive it away..so happy choosing whatever you go with...Me..im Back in petrol mode now though 230Vrs.. happy out:) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  3. Imho as i owned a diesel vrs with a dpf and like u did constant town driving and because it was my first Diesel but sold to me on its fuel consumption and cheap Diesel at the pumps i disregarded the dpf as a minor point..however if u are a town/urban driver and low mileage i would strongly urge you to go the peteol route.1)much more refined /quiet engine 2)Diesels are more expensive to purchase3)My Dpf was constantly doing regens and i also got the warning light numerous times which indicates you must take it for a 20 min drive at a constant rev..i think 2000-2500 revs its in the manual........so it became a bloody nuisance..so i traded it against a petrol Vrs and am soooo happy that i did as it suits my needs..but on the other hand i had no issue towards Diesels just i made a totally inaccurate choice of fuel type vehicle for my needs..i hope this piece of advice helps you a little. Many miles of happy motoring Nezman...i tried to upload a few od.my 230 White Hatch..but wouldnt allow me said attachment too large..anyways i was originally going for Meteor..but got cold feet.. colour looks Fab.on the Combi..but imho Moon white suits The Hatch better....love Your Meteor Grey though..anyways we are both happy campers..now to figure out how to upload photos from the laptop! Lol. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  9. On a 230 vrs petrol ..Tax 390 euros insurance 600 euros..and 1.28 euros a litre for petrol in Rep.Of Ireland! And data plan is allowing you to connect your phone to the internet while either thru 3g/4g..wifi..and it allows you to use your google maps app.to be displayed on your Vrs radio /headunit screen and also thru speakers so you can hear the directional prompts...very useful app.thru Skodas smartlink system. 10. I dont want to sound like a smarty pants so no offence to anyone but if you can afford a new Vrs ..tax and insure it and run it..u can afford a data plan...and if not i suggest living beyond your means may be the problem ..lol.Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  11. I am surprised anyone would order Sat nav when buying a new Skoda Vrs when Smartlink allows you to use Google maps thru your bluetooth/aux cable..and much better and free!!if you own a smartphone...its simple to use..just like on ur phone or laptop ..just my opinion. 12. One happy one here hatch version and a friend also has a combi one.. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  13. Previously owned a 2015 vrs diesel..loved the torque etc..and lovely car but due to my low mileage and short drives ..i had constant regens and light on dash requiring the 20 min drive down the motorway at 2000 revs plus..so got rightly sick of this so traded it in for the newer petrol 230 vrs ..oh the joys ...no more dpf to worry about.and lovin the 230vrs
  14. I thinj its pretty good for the price Nezman...have u put the settings on bluetooth and media to loud in the info/head unit ..and then turn Bass up to about 8 and treble 6 mid 6/7 and depending on your music source its really the users ears own preference and style of music etc...just have a play..and dont forget to turn up your phone volume too:) Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  15. Got same ..white 230rs Hatch..wow that black wrap on roof looks good..wonder how much and where to get done in Dublin..Ireland.?? Only downside i can think of i live in the leafy suburbs and may be hard to notice a bird poop on the black gloss:( i suppose it would force u to get rid of it quickly but im a lazy git haha..i think i personally would leave the spoiler white..just roof part gloss black it looks nice in your photos.compliments the black pack and sunset glass and big red calipers:D Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  16. Commin enough..happened to me and it was as simple as the remote unlocking doors when pressing off an item in my pocket! So lesson learned do not have remote pressing against anything when u put the keys away. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  17. Any views on Pirellis fitted as standard on my showroom new vrs? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  18. no qualms save for a bit of road noise from the 19s..as has been spoken about before on forumshttp://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/motors/skoda-s-hottest-octavia-ticks-all-the-boxes-on-my-czech-list-1.2597663
  19. Well good luck.. but u have me worried as im just about to plunge into the 230..is there something else other than the shopping trolley /car door walloping brigade thats driving u into an older Volvo? Not that its any of my business lol..just hope nothing to do with the car per se...as i already said ..all the best in whatever u drive. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks all..i currently have a mk3.vrs diesel..so i am familiar with the model..just not familiar with the petrol or the extra 50hp..and better spec....nothing wrong by the way on the diesel just am now doing very low mileage less 10000km a year..so petrol 230vrs looking attractive to me ..just the colour options are a little poor imho..Black looks great but hard to keep clean..White seems to be a trendy colour at the moment ..red im not pushed on..and meteor grey especially with black spoiler and roof looks unusual and has grown on me..but most ive shown go yuk???i suppose its a prrsonal choice but dont want to think of a colour that will be difficult to sell in 3-4years. 21. Hatch..as Uk andrest of Europe probably get more of these in general to here in Ireland was looking for a)feedback as to how they live up to real world dring from exonomy to performance..and b)as there are only 4 colour choices what is best for future valuation..i personally have warmed greatly to the meteor grey..but very little info on the web and very few of these cars here in Ireland...opinions from the wider skoda world please. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. That pic.was the press /demo model.. another friend had it for a few days as they ordered their vrs late November and as they had been given by their garage the Skoda press car for reviews etc..they knew i was after same and gave me the opportunity to see hear and feel what the car was like like in the flesh so to speak..and i took a couple of quick pics of the car too before waving it goodbye..like yourself waiting on delivery..around same time as yourself i suspect..just wanted to share the images to give an idea what car looks like in normal fading light with no added camera filters.Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  23. I only speced Canton upgrade and tint from b pillar on rear windows as extra and footwell lights in rear and Heated seats front and rear...so obviously they dont come as standard..nor does amundsen or columbus..but to be honest a waste imho with smartlink..you just connect your phone and use google maps as sat nav. also acc is an extra here too...and lane assistant is an extra..and nearly 1200euro for a sunroof..no thanks..i like the dark interior and we dont exactly have that much use for one ..had them before but didnt use it much...preder to use the 1200 towards tax insurance and PETROL Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
