  1. Thanks for that I thought that too but just wanted to check my logic was right! Lorna
  2. Had the old suction style ones for my old car but manual says not to use on new car as in the event of an accident where the curtain airbags deploy they could turn them into missiles apparently. So what can I do to stop kids getting blinded by sun don't want to get windows tinted as too expensive but would static cling type like this be ok? http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detail.php?productid=ST01903&branch=&category= TIA L
  3. Lucky you my parents took their jag in for service and got a mondeo as a courtesy car! L
  4. Mine were sent 1st class (Sheila's Wheels) and arrived on the Tuesday after I phoned on the Sunday to get it changed! They told me to allow 3 working days though and their office is in Glasgow so about 40 miles away so maybe that helped! Glad you got them eventually! Lorna
  5. Bought a cheap one off Ebay and it is rubbish anyone got any suggestions? Don't want to spend too much though! TIA Lorna
  6. Traded in my Golf for a Toyota last Monday and found it really sad to see it go. We have had the car for 4.5 years and it took my 1st child home from hospital (unfortunately I had to go to hospital in ambulance with DH following behind in it!) and me in labour with my 2nd child to the hospital (2nd child came home in a Skoda Octavia as pheasant had smashed windscreen of Golf day before birth!). Anyway just stupidly looked up local car auction site and I think I have found my car on it as details are spookily similar down to mileage (67 miles from when I handed it over), month MOT expires, month 1st registered, colour etc and I am sitting her wishing it goes to a good home. So is this just me or do others of you do this? Lorna
  7. You missed my point! What I am saying is that we ALL filter information to fit into our world view and that I am as guilty as much as you are! You believe Folksam because it says your car is safe I believe Euroncap because it says mine is! Lorna
  8. I was driving yesterday and a car pulled out in front of me and proceeded to do 20mph on a stretch of road that has a limit of 60mph and road conditions were excellent so no reason to be doing that speed. Noticed that it was a Nissan Micra and thought **** I will be behind it for ages and I was! So I have to admit I stereotype drivers of those cars as old ladies going 2mph! Anyone else guilty of this and what are your stereotypes? Lorna PS Another one is my friend maintains BMW stands for bought mainly by w and you can guess what w words she uses!
  9. Well to me it was an essential for a new car on following grounds 1) Euroncap recommend it and lets face it they crash cars for a living and it is the only reccommendation on their website. 2) My brother said he would pay for me to have it added on my car if I didn't do it myself. If he would do that it must be good! Lorna
  10. I have just bought a used Toyota (18 months old) from a Toyota main garage and managed to get £500 off the price, £600 worth of parking sensors for free and fitted, mats, delivery to my home 20 miles away and 12 months tax. So in total about £1300 off. It never hurts to haggle! Lorna

  12. Interestingly I was told not to use magnetic tape near an airbag as they use magnets to work and to use sticky velcro instead! Not sure how true this is but sticky velcro worked for me! Lorna
