likely the drivers door module has water ingress in the plug, common failure can sometimes be fixed with some contact cleaner if they aren't too corroded.

What did you do to your Skoda today?
MattCutts replied to RobClubley's topic in General Automotive Chat
Purchased some xenon headlights and LCR splitter. Oh and topped up the screenwash -
just a nip up with a quarter drive ratchet will be plenty

Also make sure the pins in the plug are tight, use a pick to close them up so they grip the cam sensor wiring as tight as possible. Other thing it could be is the new cam sensor is faulty? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Intermittent Starting issues. vRS
MattCutts replied to Colinjb's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
The cam sensor is easy to change, about 20 minute job. Remove the top intercooler hose, remove top timing belt cover, you'll see the cam sensor behind the belt it's held on with a 10mm bolt, remove the grommet in the back of the timing belt cover and unplug the wire and feed it through. Refit in reverse. -
Intermittent Starting issues. vRS
MattCutts replied to Colinjb's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Had the exact same issue recently. It would go for weeks fine then sometimes wouldn't start for at least a few cranks then when it did start it would stall until it eventually ran fine. Once it wouldn't start once it would continue not to start straightaway for a few days then it'd be ok again for a couple of weeks. I replaced the cam sensor and all has been fine since. -
Only a rear fog light is a failure. Reversing lights are for driver aid and are not necessarily needed so arn't part of the test
