  1. That was helpful! I have one on too and I think it could be a connection issue. It came on not long after I changed the battery. I do not know if this is relative.
  2. Only in the US would you have a disclaimer like this saying it is only for off road use!
  3. something wrong here, should never stall, you should never hear the gears or feel the change 99% of the time, good to hear that I am not the only one with a slightly jerky drop from 3 to 2 though.
  4. Hi Guys, Would this stuff be any good? I thought I would go for paint and laquer. http://www.carpaintwizard.co.uk/skoda_touch_up_paint.html
  5. I dont know you but I dont like you, I have a anthracite elegance estate 2006 and I REALLY want one of these, not enough wonga at the moment. Enjoy!
  6. Because, they are the biggest official dealer in Madrid, I thought I was doing the right thing when I had an accident and took it to them in April, I am still fighting with them over the quality of work, they have not repaired my car to anywhere near an acceptable standard, they are sloppy (forgot to put the cover under the engine back on) did not check the transmission properly etc, and let me drive away in a car that was potentially dangerous with my 3yr old (my real pride and joy)in the back whilst smiling, my lawyer is currently issuing summons with the Guadia Civil for endangerment of life, it is not a nice story and could fill a book. You live and learn.
  7. The fact that it is depressed living somewhere you can only drive at less than 60?
  8. That looks like the lovechild of a threesome between an A4, octavia and golf.
  9. Thanks guys, it was not maxidot, I gave it back to them and they will have to work it out.
  10. Hi Guys, Got a Fabia as a courtesy car, while they **** around with my Octavia. I was claening the dispaly and seem to have turned of the display betweeen the speedo and rev counter, I dont really care either way as I hate the dealership and hope the service departments all die slow painful deaths but can anyone tell me how to turn it back on? cheers.
  11. removed in order not to conflict with legal case
  12. Hello All, Just got a call from my insurance agent, they said that the ball joint was worn so much that the impact just finished the job and they are not going to pay for something that was just about to fail anyway. anyone know how much ball joints cost? I may have to get this fixed and fight them about it later.
  13. 3 weeks in the garage now and the assesor refusing to pay for the new tie rod and bits and pieces, he says it is not connected with the accident on that wheel and that it was an excisting problem, *****, I have arranged for him to make another visit when I am free from work and make an unexpected appearence to meet him. If i dont post for a while you will know why.
  14. Always had Energy Savers on mine and been very impressed
  15. If you want to be completly invisible to plod get a anthracite elegance estate with normal wheels and a baby seat, they cant even see it!
  16. Yes, good point but should he not take the advice of the garage who are meant to be the real experts?
  17. Holy crap thats unlucky, hope they sort it quickly. 45K is an insanely short time for a major part to fail.
  18. Update, the car is back in the garage, a serious wobble has developed, (not suprising considering the impact was on the wheel!) I am not an expert though. Assesor has to come back and the garage are at a loss to explain it, due to spanish insurance companies cutting back they only repaired the wing and the bumper and not replaced them and Skoda did a half arsed job of it over 10 days, they were told by the assesor not to touch the mechanicals as there was no need, who is at fault here? The assesor or the garage? I am fuming that I was given an unsafe car back and drove my child in it. does this happen in the UK too? Moral of the story, always check what work they have done, in spain they do not have to tell you or show you any paperwork. Well I took a courtesy Fabia, 1.9 diesel, quite nice, feels bigger than it is, off them and have told them they can have it back when I am satisfied.
  19. I have a Dension ICE link that is wired directly into the back of the HU, the cradle sits in my ash tray and when closed is invisible, it also charges it and when I want to listen to it I just change the source to the CD autochanger, (that I dont have) Had it installed in 30 mins by an expert 3 years ago and no problems so far. http://www.dension.com/
  20. The dimensions are completly different for the estate from the back seats backwards, it has a different boot.
  21. Sweet looking car, got any interior shots?
  22. Update,Ii saw the patient this morning, completly disassembled front end, looks like it will take another week to get it fixed, C4 sedan replacement car , nasty! Finnaly got he car back 7 out of 10 for the quality of the work, got to take it back, case closed though at least I have my car back. Saw the costings , cost 4 grand to put it right seems a bit steep to me.
  23. Thanks Guys, will deffo get them to check everything such as geometry, thats why it went to a main dealer, if anything is not right it will be gracefully returned to them. The only advice I give people driving here is expect the unexpected, but this guy threw me, I got a call from the garage today, they have taken all the big bits off, the assesor has to come back as they found some nasties they were not expecting.
  24. Thanks,I am a moron when to it comes to IT, if only you worked in the body shop where it is currently resting.
  25. you can pull the ends off, mine is in the garage at the moment so can't check, but just tug the ends. Also try making sure it is fully extended.
