Thanks for the advice, if found this on a VW forum http://uk-mkvs.net/forums/t/319352.aspx. Seems like it is quite common. Unfortunately it requires steering wheel removal :( to the garage I guess.

Good afternoon all. I have searched through the forums and I don’t think that anyone else has had this issue (unless i have missed it) I have an intermittent issue with my indicators. Very occasionally when i indicate right, the left indicators flash. This happens both when the indicator is full on and when half on (three flashes) Has anyone else experienced this?

Oddly I was talking to someoine last night who has an A3, they claim that cleaning the Throttle Body will solve the lumpy idle. I found an excellent post on this forum http://briskoda.net/technical-guides/cleaning-throttle-body-1-8t-engine/145866/

Mark. Accepting that you have a more refined engine than a diesel; at work we have a 2.0 TDi A3 (56 plate), a 2.0 TDi A4 (57 plate) and I have a 2.0 TDi Octavia II (06 plate) and they all have "lumpy" tickover. I have had one occasion when the car was clearly missing on a cylinder. I put it down to a sticky valve as after i stamped on the loud pedal it cleared up. I like the theory that it could be the load that the aircon might be putting on the altenator. I will have a play with this at some point and let you know. "Featuring the same flattish seats as the TDI (which go one up on the RS’s better-shaped buckets by offering power adjustment), the TSI is just as lumpy at idle but soon transforms into a responsive, sweet-spinning engine at revs."

Thanks Simbo. So Im not going mad after all. and Gaff, Definatly no confidence in the sensors. The car id booked in on Tuesday so thay can have a look at it. I will let you know. Steve

Hi Gaff I agree a very bad design. Atleast mount the module above the conector, or better still on the other side of the car. This was the first "pop off". After I reconnected the pipe, it popped off in the boot at the wiper motor about 3 days later. I had the same problem on my Octavia 1. However it leaked into a wiring loom connector. The result was that every time I locked the car it unlocked its self 54 times ! it was okay once the connector was dried out. You will have to let me know how your frined gets on with the new module. Hi all A few weeks ago, the rear washer pipe came away slightly at a joint inside the boot lining, just above the wheel arch on my hatchback Octavia II. The rear washer still worked but the join was leaking. The result was that eventually it pumped copious amounts of water into the rear parking sensor module which sits below the join. Needless to say the parking sensors became intermittent. on the occasions that the parking sensors were working the beep was only sounding from the near side rear door and the sound was very faint. I have had the rear parking module replaced at a Skoda garage, but since being replaced there are three issues. 1) There is about 2 - 3 second delay before the BEEP to indicate that the sensors are enabled. 2) The detection beep is only sounding in one of the rear doors 3) The beep is very week. This seems to be foxing the garage so i thought i would ask the nice people of Briskoda forum if they could check to see if they 1) have a delay between engaging reverse and the unit beeping and 2) if the sensor beep only comes from one door. Mine came off of my 2.0 TDI Octavia yesterday with a loud pop. The clip from the intercooler has snapped. The RAC have put a temporary fix in place. (excellent service btw) but the seal has been remove as it became swolen with oil so off to the dealership on Monday for a new clip.

The two wheel drive 2.0 TDI has a six speed box I had a 1.9Tdi for 18 months till i changed jobs, I then picked up a 2.0Tdi. There is a huge difference in economy (the way i drive anyway) however the 2.0 is far smoother (once you get used to the power delivery) and much much quicker, Even sith is a viable gear for A roads and overtaking. If your not bothered about overtaking other cars in the same group then stick to the 1.9, your tires will last a lot longer too. When I buy another one I will would go for the 2.0Tdi possibly VRS although i do like the creature comforts of the Elegance When you take the cars fot a test drive have a play in 2nd in the 2.0 for some turbo fun that you just dont get in the 1.9 As for is it worth the extra

are you kidding, with the rain we had a couple of days ago, I am sure i have worn the windscreen thinner lol Yeah, its definitely clean, the problem started after the amazing thunder storm we had, the lightning was extremely bright, is it possible that that could have damaged the sensors, as I was driving at the time ?

I had mine reset at the dealer because the lights were on all the time, a 30 minute job and the light assist was fixed. all has was fine till the other night and now they have returned to being on all the time. I am very disappointed as since the Skoda Garage has started selling Kia

I had the Antitheft Lock feature turned on by my local dealer for free. It locks once you get upto about 15KPH and unlocks when you take the key out of the ignition. If you have passengers who you are dropping off, you can either hit the button near the handbrake, or thay can pull the inside door handle twice, (once to unlock and again to open). Once you are up to 15KPH the door willl lock again.

A while ago, Skoda was offering free alloys on its lower spec fabias, does anyone have any pics of these alloys, I have looked all over the internet and on briskoda but can not find any pics. Can anyone help ?

I have the Maxi-Dot and multifunction stearing wheel, the Maxi-Dot is well worth it, I am really glad i ordered it, looks really good between the dials on the dash, and very useful.

I have been having fun with the light assist, the dealer let me play with my light settings on their VAG - COM equipment, while they were on the phone to Skoda Technical. A specialist is coming to look at it next Tuesday. Soooo, if you have the light assist option, dont worry, its the first time the dealer has seen the problem. Typical.

Mine was delayed by about 4 weeks due to a fire at the factory.

I have the 105 Elegance too, I am really, REALLY happy with it. The light assist isnt working properly, but hopefully that will be sorted next week.

From Port to dealer for its PDI then to me took 8 days. Try not to think about it. What moddel are you getting ?

Is it just me or has the stereo in the New Octavia Elegance got LOADS of Bass, makes me smile everythine i turn up the volume, you can even feel it in the backs of the seats, and see the rear view mirror vibrating. I took a peak at the door speakers, they are seem quite big for standard car speakers Anyone else cranked up the bass ? opinions anyone ?

funny you should mention the noise levels in the new Octavia, The local dealer asked me if i had noticed annoying amounts of noise while driving, as he had recieved a couple of complaints about it, I have to say that there is no noticable road / engine noise over any other diesel car i have driven, Infact my new Occy 1.9 TDI PD 105 Elegance is quieter than my 1.9 TDI 110 Elegance. Sorry this is no help to you
