  1. I ordered 5000 but all the had at the time were 6000
  2. Glad they worked well, the difference is huge - so much so that my "upgraded" Blue H15s aren't any brighter than my dipped HIDs. I'm gonna have to swap back to the std H15s to see if they're any better before figuring out what to do. LEDs have to be the answer for the full beams I think.
  3. Not a single flash, I've had my wife follow me in it and it's really not an issue.
  4. Continuing the non vag theme. Astra H 16" alloys with spigots and wobble bolts!
  5. Got it, I thought the DRL was the same brightness as side lights. I've got mine turned off, I'll try them on and see if they're less yellow. - if they are i'll just increase the side light to the same as DRL. I thought about adding HID to the H15 but was worried about the warm up time and damaging them with flashing.
  6. Is there a difference between DRL and sidelights ? If there is, do the DRLs then dim to sidelights when the main lights come on ?
  7. I've fitted some cheap eBay H15s today from xenons r us, main beam is fine much closer to the H7 HIDs but side lights need more power to bring out the Whiteness.
  8. I could've squeezed everything inside I think but I was worried about heat. I just ran a drill through the back cover and fitted the rubber grommets supplied then stuck the ballast to the back of the covers (the twist grip on the cover works well as a shelf for the ballast) there's not much room in the wings to stuff everything in there, which stumped me a bit.
  9. Don't think glare will be a problem, I parked in front of my garage door when fitting and the beams appear to be in the same place. When looking out I can still see the top of the beam running from Right to Left horizontally then going up to the Left Diagonally. I was out for a good hour tonight and not had anyone flash. i ordered 5000K but all they had in H7R was 6000K, I was worried they'd be too Blue but they're not. Have just ordered some cheap Xenon look H15s on eBay as the originals now look very Yellow.
  10. Fitted a set of these today, 10min job. No bulb warnings, no flickering. Difference is incredible! http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/181763048176 Need to change the Yellow H15 bulbs now.
  11. Your local dealer can do the same deals. You can even get no deposit and £275 a month.
  12. Costco are doing the 205/55/16s at 78 fitted and there's £50 off when you buy 4 this month.
  13. Wait until it tries to **** the turbo out of the exhaust, it makes a spectacular noise !
  14. I'm assuming the 6 will do that, I've gone from a 5s straight to 6s
  15. Waqar are you using canbus ballasts or the standard ones ?
  16. Yes, reflectors on Mk3 Phil, I don't think it's a problem with the latest r and rc bulbs available though. R22JGB, ax-re - I've found the other thread and seen this. Ax, do you have high beam assist ? What kit /ballasts and bulbs are you using and how was behaviour before coding ?
  17. That's interesting, funnily enough it's a scout that's got me looking I've been offered a deal on a new DSG Scout that's available from stock but it doesn't have xenons. Have you tried coding the car for bi-xenon with shutters as per the lateMk2's ?
  18. Hi guys, is it possible to code a mk3 with VCDS for a HID kit without canbus or is it now safe to run a HID kit with canbus cheat ? I can find loads of info on Mk2's but nothing on Mk3s. My only experience of HID kits is on another car where bulb warnings aren't an issue ('99 Porsche)
  19. Can somebody give me the front disc size please ? 312 or 340mm ??
  20. I've done circ. 12K since it first happened, so I wouldn't be too concerned about a 200 mile run. It's very sporadic and seems complete random. If I'm on the motorway and put it into neutral to coast when it happens, the temp needle drops as quick as it went up then stays bang on 90 for the rest of the journey and might not happen again then for another 2-3K miles. Keep meaning to plug in my OBD scanner but by the time I plug it in and connect iPhone it's back to normal levels.
  21. That's interesting Dale, my 1.6 tdi has done this a few times now at random intervals/conditions. I don't think it's the water pump sticking as the other morning it reached 120 C on my drive, literally 10s after starting it. It's shown 125-130 a couple of times on the motorway and on immediately pulling over, nothing is hotter than it should be under the hood. I'm guessing it's either a sensor issue or a problem with the wiring/dash itself. How long have you owned the car and how old is it ?
