  1. Spend on the glass, decide on the reach you need, the type of photography you pursue and go from there. Most lenses are an upgrade from the 18-55 kit lens. The 350D is a very capable body and will last you a while longer yet I would personally look at the Sigma range right now, you don't need the IS unless you are going long range and you certainly don't need the weather sealing of the 'L' series. The 350D is based on a crop sensor and utilises the centre of the lens element, the 'L' series are sharper throughout the entire element, something you simply won't see on the 350D. Add to the above the savings on non-L's and you are on a winner. You could have the 10-22, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8, 70-300, and a couple of TC's for the price of an 85 f/1.2 ......
  2. Wooow, I got to "Hello folks" then my eyes started hurting. Might want to break that up a bit bud. Pretty unreadable at the mo ...
  3. Stunning! Looks like the original leather I have in the 06, in fact so much so I'm not sure if Seat Surgeons didn't retrim that one Do you mind if I ask how much the job was? I may call them as I don't want the door panels done and their 'new' site is somewhat limited and no longer mentions costings :(
  4. It can either be run down the centre or the sides, which way are you trying to run it? I did mine with the drivers seat out [was fitting the screens at the time] so it was easy.
  5. Have to give them a shout, some shots of their work in a Fabia would be lovely if anyone has some. Only need the seats done though, not interested in the door cards.
  6. My local indie's are the rip off merchants round here. I would rather hand the car to a main dealer, have their car for the day and collect it when it's done knowing my warranty is still intact and they will rectify any errors. Why are you asking after the fact if you've been ripped? Surely this would have been a better question *before* you had the work done ....
  7. Yeah right, pulling into the drive last night slipping past the gas fire outlet [steel cage affair] and the frickin thing beeps. Instinctively look up and hit the mirror on the outlet !!! Nicely grazed mirror now and I've only had the bloody car a week :(
  8. The IVA's have the front screen disabled when you are on the move [or should I say they are supposed to be] but then I find it handy to be able to flip the screen out and set-up the new movie for her without stopping.
  9. Will dig out the details for you, fairly sure I didn't pay that for them
  10. The question is how would you mount them? Seem expensive when mine came all fitted into the HR for around the same money IIRC. You can power them from an IGN feed under the centre console
  11. Duggie, You can buy an Alpine BT adaptor which would allow a compatible phone to stream music contact and answer calls etc [it's about £80] so I would be using that. I know the iPhone has some limited BT functionality though so was curious. Might just pick up the dongle and see if it's useable
  12. I'm looking at one of these for the new Fabia, the other one has a DVA100R fitted and I do love the unit. My question is though, anyone used this with the BT dongle? I'm looking to interface my iPhone with it and wondered if it could stream audio [or would I need the additional lead] and does it work ok with the phone functions? Anyone got one?
  13. As above, swap the yellow and red wires around. The yellow on the radio loom to the red on the car loom and vice versa.
  14. Doesn't appear to be, stink has subsided now but haven't driven the car for a couple of days. Already done that, ensured they raised it with their detailer and that he didn't bring it within 100 yards of the new one
  15. Ahhh, in that case then don't bother. Just grab the screens, have the input either in the centre console or the seat pocket and run the screens. My headrest units take inputs from standard phonos and would allow the Archos to run a treat
