Hi. I have just purchased a 2008 Octy Vrs with a stream mp3 stereo I want to replace the head unit but without the hassle of changing the canbus and other bits i will need to do, so im looking for an aftermarket stereo I have messaged icebox auto on ebay and they sent me this link recommending this stereo http://www.iceboxauto.com/skoda-octavia-ii-2007-2009-android-71-q005 Does any one have experience with this stereo? Are there any other options without me having to change the fascia? Sorry if this is a repost i have searched the forum but cant find anything to do with this stereo Thanks

Quick Update Never got round to really have a look at the problem but while I was doing something else I came along this snapped wire behind the passenger side windscreen pillar. It goes towards the rear end of the car through the roof lining. Cant seem to see where it was connected to. Does anyone know if this is a wire for rear demister? Thank you.

Oh ok. Do you know how costly that will be to sort out?

Would this be easy to install on a PFL octavia? 55 reg. I have a stream mp3 in place at the moment. Would there be issues with battery drain? Thanks

Just a quick update, May help anyone in the future with the same problem. Since battery has been changed the problem has not occurred again. So all good Thanks guys

The rear badge is attached by a sticky pad. I placed a piece of cardboard along the body work and used a small flat head and slowly pried it away. Just take your time

Sentient? You mean seatbelt? lol. Yeah no bongs while seatbelt is on so all good Now I just gotta hope no more dash light flickering.

Ahh thats why, I put my seatbelt on then twisted the ignition and no noise lol. I normally start the car then put my seatbelt on lol

Ive replaced the battery but those beeps keep coming every time I turn the ignition?

Got a great deal for a battery. Got the Bosch S5 for £74 as my local garage whos a good friend has a account with Eurocarparts. £103 on there site ! Now time to keep an eye on it and see if it happens again.

Also I wanted to ask, if you watch the video you see that when I turn the ignition on 6 beeps happen. Is this normal?? The service light isn't on either. Its happened since I purchased it and was curious to know if it was normal or if it was alerting me to something. Thanks

Yes I'm going to change it after Christmas. Hopefully get a good deal on boxing day A normal battery should 12.6 and its only showing 12.0 so I think its probably the reason. Will report back once changed and tested

Battery is showing 12.0 Volts when engine is off. I got it wrong before 12.0 when off and 14.7 when on. Does that mean the battery is on its way out? Thanks

Ive checked the voltages on the battery. While the engine is off it shows 12.7v and when on it shows 14.0 The battery and alternator seem to be fine...

Nope the battery has not been changed as far as I am aware of. I am not sure it how old it is. A possibility it could be that Not checked the earth. How would I go about doing that? Is that checking the voltage of the battery using a multimeter? Thanks

Hi. I have been having this problem with dash lights flickering for a few months now. It wasn't that bad and only used to happen when idle. Now the lights seem to have gone brighter and have been happening even when I drive. Not all the time thou. Only happens now and again. Cant understand what the problem could be. First assumed it was the alternator but the voltage on the battery when the car is started shows 14v so don't think it is that. Any one have any idea what it can be? I tought i would try get some help on the forum before I take it to an auto electrician and see if they can figure out what the problem is. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. mine just dosent work at all no matter how long it has been on. Would there be anything under the boot trim that could be disconnected?

As winter is approaching I have started to notice my rear demister does not work. The light comes on when I press the button but nothing happens. Ive even put my hand on the glass and it just stays cold. Ive checked the fuse but that is fine. Ive looked at all the heating element lines in the glass they seem ok. What would the next step be to do? Thanks!
