  1. Evening all, As I had just about given up I read a post on here where a certain person only replaced his |DX with a pioneer in his Edition100!! How did he manage it as just about all the "adapter" leads, and all the audio places I have asked the question with have all said the same thing, rewire the speakers. So, does anyone know how Gizmo68 replaced his unit. Did he rewire, and if so, to the DSP or to each door? Thank you.
  2. Lol. I have never had one give up totally. Normally click for ages I thought? Going to put a few more miles on her tomorrow so will hopefully prove successful.
  3. Hmmm. Thanks for the replies. So, I have (hopefully) found the issue. At my expense. NS CV Joint started clicking very quietly in the last day. This morning got louder and louder and within 50 miles parted company. But, the steering did have a really mad 15 minutes. So, new shaft fitted (peace of mind). A long drive will determine if it is issue resolved. Hopefully so. PS. No fluid loss, leaks etc. I will report back once it has a few miles on it which won't take long!!
  4. Ok, so car has been to garage and diagnosed with no idea until it gets worse as it can't be replicated. Went to the alternator place, and the guy seems to think that it simply is a coincidence on timing. Suggested a new rack would be the sensible way to go. A bitch to fit? Oh well. Lets start with the expense....
  5. Jimbof, the time between light coming on and repair was literally one day/one hundred miles. The pulley would make sense if it's not inducing as much force on the belt as required I would guess? A belt slipping would create the experience I am assuming? Just spoke with AudiTeknik and according to receptionist she has never heard of the issue....I did not get the option to speak to anyone technical unfortunately. Godly going to get someone to look into it and check wheels etc.
  6. Hmm. I will get that checked first and foremost but wood it be at various sleds and when on a slow bend? And it can be pretty vigorous. Cheapest option though! Thanks
  7. My superb does this and I read that it was the stalk.it creates a copper dust which creates enough of a connection to power the relay but not enough to illuminate the indicators. It is £70 from TPS but it's a steering wheel off job. I lived with it!
  8. OK, so my symptoms started last week when alternator workshop piped up on the dash for all of 1 minute. I pulled into a mates garage straight away add I was just passing. Turned it off. After a restart it never came back on. I then done 100 miles and during that drive I got a wheel wobble line a wheel was loose OR as if I was breaking with warped discs. I was at a steady 70. I checked the wheels and all was well. I drove on and the last few miles I was in twisty roads and even at 20mph there was a slight pulse (tugging) at the wheel. I asked at the alternator place and they basically relayed my issues back to me. Starter clutch on alternator was knackered. So swapped that out with OLD belt. Steeing unchanged. Ok, belt change. But it's STILL bloody doing it. Any thing else I need to replace that is aux belt area? Or anyone rectified the above? Thanks.
  9. Just trying to find out if it will take a 64gb card now.....?
  10. I plugged it in last night and updated it via fresh. Updtated to Q1 2015 too.
  11. Well the unit arrived today, Wow. What an impressive bit of kit. Now can anyone tell me is the on,ly way of updating to use the 80% off code or do these units come with an initial update as per a "normal" sat nav (latest map guarantee or similar)? Ta.
  12. Hi, Has anyone got any advice on how to upgrade the sat nav unit for an aftermarket unit? I have the DSP in mine (located under the parcel shelf) and when I first bought the car I tried and there was no audio, so I lived with it. Now I am really in need of something a little more modern so I have bought this lead http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261643533350?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT which I hoped would fix all my problems and power up the DSP and send audio back to the speakers, but to no avail. Anyone got any suggestions as I dont wish to rewire all the speakers!! Thanks Craig
  13. I ordered a new (but opened) unit off a seemingly honest chap off the dreaded eBay!!!!!! It is a Garmin as I have noticed how the navigon's don't seem to fetch as much. Are updates expensive would you know for the mapping software? PS. Hyphons, can;t get rid of the superb it's my mile muncher and since August it's seen 30k. But it is a faultless machine and being the edition 100 it's got some nice toys for a 10yr old car. Just hoping the lead I have ordered will elt me get rid of the bloody dated head unit and keep the DSP / amp whilst getting some sound of the thing!!! Thanks for all the repsonses, i'll be back with many more questions I am sure
  14. Hi, a little late to this thread but, M12MKD said that he had activated cornering lights on the citigo? Is this just an option of on/off within VCDS? This is somethin I have got to invest in as we are all now VAG drivers!! PS, it's a sport citigo so I guess uses the fog lights as cornering lights? Thank you.
  15. Hi all, I have just added a citigo sport to the family's transportation. Great fun to drive, in fact I leave my superb on the drive if I get the chance! So, my question is this. Our car never came with a PID when we bought it second hand. Now I realise there are laods on eBay and I am looking at a second hand one rather than new, does it make any difference whether I opt for a Garmin or a Navigon? Does it matter if it is an UP!, a Mii, or best to opt for Citigo? I will want the skoda logo to be on the splash screen. Difficult or expensive to update? Anything else you can advise me on?? Thanks one and all. Craig
