  1. Good job! Enjoy it ,hope the weather is not too bad the weekend and you can put a few miles on it, the engine and gearbox are awesome.
  2. Hi Mike The engine and gearbox are superb,(it's really what you are paying for with the vrs) you will love the dsg after a very short while and will probably not want to go back to a manual. Enjoy!.
  3. Hi all, I would definitely be interested in one of them in the above photo, very nice indeed.
  4. Hi mate, Great looking car, lights are personal preference, yes do the oil when warm, and I would not bother with the air filter ,you won't notice any real difference and it will get a little noisier. Anyway, welcome to the forum Enjoy!.
  5. Hi all, I picked up my new fabia vrs yesterday in the craziest weather possible, but managed to get her home safely all be it very filthy (white one). My first impressions are very good even though the roads were bad, by using the paddles and keeping in low gears for junctions, islands etc and not too heavy with the right foot she performed brilliantly. I am looking forward to much better weather so I can enjoy the full potential of this great little car. Cheers.

  7. Welcome on board my friend, I also have a fabia on order ,hopefully getting it this weekend. I only hope it is as good as my octavia I am trading in, what colour have you ordered?
  8. Lovely looking vrs mate, i like what you have done at the front with the splitter and painting it black etc. The quarter panels look good too, have you vinyl wrapped, plasti dipped or painted them in? What do you think of the car?I am picking mine up this weekend (white, black roof) after owning an octavia 1.8tsi for 2years I hope this car will be as good. Cheers.
  9. Welcome on board, you have bought an excellent car, that will feel so much quicker than your corsa. Enjoy!.
  10. Yes ,it hopefully will not be long for me either, saying goodbye to my brilliant octavia 1.8tsi and hello to a white/black roof fabia vrs. I hope this car will be as good as my octavia has been, roll on.
  11. Hello and welcome, enjoy the forums. I know how good the vrs is ,my friend has one, great car, I've just ordered the fabia vrs which hopefully will be as good as my previous 2 octys have been.
  12. Hello! welcome back, I have just ordered a fabia vrs my self hopefully picking up in a couple of weeks. I have also had Audi,s and BMW,s but have come back to skoda.
  13. Hello and welcome, this is a great site for info on your car go through the forums and you will see.
  14. Hello and welcome, the fabia vrs mk1 is a great car in standard form and it can embarrass much bigger cars quite easily. Get your self a rear anti roll bar and maybe better brake pads (I used to find mine a bit vague) and a re-map or tunning box and you will have a brilliant car, enjoy it.
  15. Welcome, my friend, this a great site for getting help and info on skoda stuff, there are people on here with a lot of know how. Anyway enjoy your car and enjoy the site Karl.
  16. Yes, we'll said ,welcome Ken, enjoy your fabia it's a great little car easily as good as a lot of the others out there. Yesterday I swapped my 2010 octavia 1.8tsi for a fabia vrs (vat free) my octavia is the best car I have ever had it is a brilliant all rounder and easily as good as any Ford, or Vauxhall or any other manufacturer but they don't get the credit because of the badge and that is down to snobbery. None of the car makers can afford to make a bad car these days, they all have good and bad points, I have owned Audi a3s and BMW 3 series m sport in the past and still think my mk1octavia vrs and my current octavia (and hopefully my fabia vrs) are just as good if not better if only from a value point of view. Don't worry about the badge ken most people know they are VWs underneath ,but then again skodas have never been that bad just check out their rallying achievements in the 70s and 80s. Enjoy Karl
  17. Try racechip.de a plug in solution to getting more power. I have looked at there website and some of the figures are quite impressive, I have the same engine as you and I am considering getting the chip ,it will then be in VRS territory performance wise (although it is not slow in standard form) hope this helps you out.
  18. Hi I have just plasti dipped my wheels, my octavia badge and my grill it now looks awesome. The stuff is very easy to use and as you say if you don't like it you can just peel it off. Check these videos out on you tube they will show you all you need to know dipyourcar.com, happy dipping.
  19. Hi with regards to chipping the 1.2 tsi engine I came across this company Racechip.de while looking for a chip for my mk2 octavia. I did a bit of checking and they have quite a good reputation with half descent power figures. They just post the chip to your door and you fit it yourself, ther is a video showing you how easy it is. Hope this helps a little Dave. Karl
  20. Yes i agree, i have a octy vrs mk1 but my dad has a furby vrs and i must say it is a very rapid car around town and handles nice as well. I still love my mk1 though, on the motorway they are truly awesome making long journeys very short indeed ( timewise that is and me being an ex copper ,tut tut)
  21. Yes mate will definitely be interested in a re-map, probably only a generic one though. Was thinking about selling the old girl, but have decided to keep her another couple of years, as i can't find anything good enough to replace her with, so a re-map will be like having a new car, at least until my dad sells me his 06 furby vrs. Count me in. cheers.
  22. hi everyone, i dont normally write in but wandered if you need a special tool to push back the piston in the brake caliper when fitting new pads on the rear. They desperately need doing soon, any advice would be most helpfull
  23. I like the green as it is different to every other manufacturer who nearly all use red at least we stand out a little more as being original. Blue is probably the next best option.
  24. Thanks for replying everyone i did not know about the smooth green hammerite, i shall keep that in mind for next time. seeya.
