  1. Hi guys, read the topic , ready to order the badges. Please someone confirm that for a pre-FL Hatchback Skoda Octavia VRS the correct badges are for the front = 1ST 853 601 AAUL for the boot = 5J0 853 621 AAUL for the wheels = 5JA 601 151 ULM (this part number is a pack of one, so I need 4 for the wheels, correct?) also, any insights on where to order then? (shipment in Greece) Skodaparts (not sure if they do international EU shipments), ebay etc? Local dealers here are expensive....
  2. Thanks Mike, I also thought of the need of "zeroing or clearing" the previous owner info, thats why I asked. In my previous car, an Astra H 5D 1.6T, I put an OPC cluster, and the previous owner told me that he had "cleared" some settings from the donor car, so I thought thats the norm in swapping clusters ;-) So, I will inquire the seller, get it in official writting that the cluster is zeroed and before buying, I will check with my Skoda dealer. Thank god, there are plenty of Skoda Dealers in Athens, will surely get one willing to try. Waiting for so long to see one available in skodateile, but no luck...... From what I heard, those guys have their units ready as new, or new... ? (any other source/lead for new clusers, please feel free to let me know)
  3. thank you for the answer mannyo The cluster is used, but has 72k kmh, while mine has 73k kmh, so I am lucky ;-) So, the 1Z0920841C part number should be ok, I will contact the seller to get more info and also contact the dealer to verify that they can undertake the task. They should be, they retrofited RNS510, bluetooth and cruise control for me.
  4. Hello guys, I decided to upgrade my instrument cluster, with one that has Maxi Dot Display. Car is a pre-FL Octavia mk2 VRS (June 2008), 2.0T petrol (BWA engine). I found one (1Z0920841C), in Poland, but can someone advice what I will need, besides the culster itself? What should I ask the seller to provide? Is it a straightforward swap ? (it will be done in Skoda local dealer). Does the seller need to "clear" or "zero initiallize" the cluster? what about the immob or keys I have? Will it work with my current config and what should I expect to actually see in the Maxi Dot (I have retrofitted RNS510 and bluetooth 5K0035730F)? Navi directions, cellular signal? Below, in this thread, I have posted a VCDS readout, with my modules etc, so can someone a little more experienced offer some advice? Should I also change other parts, like can bus controller, or...??? http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/326275-upgrade-to-columbus-rns510-so-many-vcds-errors/#entry3912806 Price I got for the 1Z0920841C is a bit expensive, so dont want to make any mistakes. thanks for reading this and for any insight
  5. Finally, bluetooth 5k0 035 730 F installed, programmed and is working fine! No maxi dot here or MFSW, so all is done via RNS510 Quick question if anyone can help: Of course, the Greek names of my phone address book did not transfer corrently (have an iphone 5s). When I entered in the RNS510 some quick dial numbers, I saw that in the keypad, I could swap from English to <another language>, probalby Polish or similar (must be from the origin of the RNS510). Is there a software upgrade, CD or whatever I can buy, so to have English/Greek and hopefully have my address book display correctly?
  6. 4300k Kit from london colour, non canbus fitted today, Athens Greece. Thanks radders567 for the hint, I checked the ultimate thread www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/264447-hid-aftermaket-kit-help-for-definitive-how-to/page-4 and followed BestyUK instructions, programmed (pre-FL Octavia II VRS), Xenon light up ok, no error codes or bulb mulfunctions Will buy another Kit, as a spare Also programmed the Anti-Hijack lock (after 15 km) and now have the VCDS cable for a month+ loan from a friend, to try also other mods.
  7. Sorry to jump in, but hey Eddie-NL, if you succeed and you can reproduce the procedure of retrofitting a Octavia II VRS FL Cluster with Maxi Dot to a Octavia II VRS Pre-FL.... ...and you like Greece for vacation..... drop me a line ;-)
  8. I know this topic is done to death and then some, Read through many threads, and options and advices, but I would be grateful if someone guided me to the process. The car is a pre-FL Octavia II Vrs (June 2008), with projector type lights. From a thread here, I found an ebay seller and got a non-canbus H7 kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330789047472?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I got the non canbus, since I read here that 1) canbus kits can blow controller modules, 2) the non canbus is ideal for my car, since there will be an option (in pre-FL anyway) with VCDS to "tick" and the light will work, without warning bulbs in the cluster So, now, I "bribed" a friend to come over this weekend to perform the surgery with me and bring his VCDS Can you please guide me, as to where we should look for this "enable Xenon" option in VCDS? He has some experience my friend, but he has a GTI mk5, and xenon already fitted from the factory, so no clue there thanks!!!
  9. yep, also have this issue (Octavia mk2 VRS). No maxi dot, so cant tell which bulb causing the failure, but.... Checked all bulbs, nothing! Then I realized that the warning light came on after I put the reverse and the parking sensors emitted a continued beeep (close to an obstacle). Since my parking sensors are aftermarket and they come on when the reverse light bulb lights (and I presume draw power from the same power line), I think that there is my problem. Will try to duplicate again, but I think that also a plausible explanation for the rear light warning
  10. Thanks Adam, you gave me hope ;-) Will check your suggestions and post back Stergios!
  11. Hello (again) from Athens Greece, I recently upgraded my pre-FL (7/2008) Skoda Octavia mk2 VRS with an RNS510 unit. (Part number 3T0 035 680 L, Hardware version 2014 H10, Software version 5270). I opted for a skoda dealer to do the installation, because I did not want to mess with coding etc (the car was already going in for a full service). Well...the shinny new LED RNS510 wreaked havoc and now I have many VCDS errors, mostly from the other control modules that they do not like the newcomer and do not want to talk to him, or to each other, like spoiled little children ;-) Did a quick study to Ross tech, and found that the main culprit is the old CAN Gateway (and by saying old, I mean OLD, its the one in the Ross-Tech RNS510 how-to retrofit, that says "Replace only", the one and only 1K0 907 530 P with H16 0191). So I am now looking to replace it with the one below. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-VW-OEM-CAN-BUS-GATEWAY-7N0907530AF-7N0907530R-7N0907530M-7N0907530-/221156459207 Please, if anyone know, will this work with my pre-FL (June 2008) Skoda Octavia mk2 VRS (BWA engine) ? Is a skoda dealer usually qualified to do the exchange? Will I also need a new Climatronic panel (so to talk with the RNS510)? I have the dual clima one, with the two lcd screens. Last but not least, I am expecting a Bluetooth module I want to install, 5K0035730F. Can it be installed prior to the CAN Gateway transplant and still work (basic functions, I will use it via Columbus, dont have Maxi Dot or multifunction steering wheel)? Should I install the Gateway first? Lots of questions, any help appreciated and of course next time you are in Greece dear Skoda fans, drop me a line ;-) Below my auto scan for your reference. Dont mind the busted light bulb, checked myself, not there! Light in panel switched of by itself! 12. Thanks Adam and Phil for the useful info. I found a 7p6 035 730 k and a 5K0035730F, what is the best option (almost same price) ?? Loom, car mic, Foam protection etc I can use from the 3C I bought, correct? And when I buy any of the two, I will not need the maxi dot to pair or MFSW to use, and I can use the phone/bluetooth via the RNS 510, correct? Need to go shave my legs now -->must find somehow the extra 100 euros for the bluetooth ;-) Will try to sell the 3C module, at the cost of the other one I will buy, hope its a fair price
  13. Hello again from Athens Greece, I just bought a 3C8035730D bluetooth module, plus harness, mic, rSap antenna, foam protective etc I already retrofitted in my Skoda Octacia II VRS (2008, pro-Face Lift) with a recent (2014 LED) Columbus unit. Unfortunately (did not think it through, or read carefully all those, 100s of 1000s of posts) I do not have Maxi Dot. Will I be able to fit the bluetooth and pair with the phone? My VRS does not have a multifunction wheel, but I am ok operating the phone via Columbus. I have an iphone 5s, so no rSAP here, but I hope I can get basic phone functionality. any thoughts/help? (please be gentle, especially if the only solution is to to go and do a Maxi Dot upgrade....)
  14. So... It seems Mission Impossible for the FL cluster to fit to a pre-FL model ;-) Perhaps a pre-FL will do the trick easier? Like the one below. http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=53&menu=%C5%A0koda%7COctavia%20II%28A5%29%7CPanely%20p%C5%99%C3%ADstroj%C5%AF Will ask my Skoda dealer tomorrow, if he can undertake this venture and the extra cost
  15. Greetings from Athens, Greece, I just swaped my old trusty Astra H 1.6 turbo petrol for a used Octavia mk2 2008 VRS (needed the extra space, now with the baby and all). Back in the days I did some retrofitting for my Astra (added extras like color screen, original NAVI, original Bluetooth with voice dialing, OPC instrument cluster, original bi Xenon Headligths with auto leveling and AFL curve function, etc). Since my new Skoda is a bit poorly equipped (old owner must really spend all his cash just buying the car, no extras whatsoever...), I will start a retrofitting master plan also ;-) Need your help with my..., well... second project (first one already finished, got a 2014 RNS510 Columbus from ebay, to be delivered in 1-2 days). I was wondering if its possible to swap the pre-Facelift ugly, non Maxi Dot instrument cluster, with a nice (white lights and all) RS Maxidot from the facelift RS. Anyone done this before? apologies for my bad English, or any mistakes, not a native speaker ;-)
