  1. I hadn't heard of this app before. Installed and can connect ok. Have you tried to enable the one remote button press to unlock all doors, or press and hold to wind windows up? I don't want to pay the $25 for it not to enable even though the option is there.
  2. Hi there, I've found a couple of threads about the volume of the connection/pairing tone, but i was wondering if it is possible to turn off the phone connection notification completely. I find it completely unecessary to interrupt the radio for 5-10 seconds of silence and a splashscreen every journey to let me know that my phone has paired. I trust them to pair as they've been setup to do and would prefer to leave them to it whilst i enjoy the tranquility of the radio. Does anyone know if this is possible via the columbus itself (i havent been able to find anything but then i didn't expect the tone menu to have the nav volume either) or via VCDS? cheers, zed50.
  3. Are the little plastic dividers, shown in the photos separating a fire extinguisher on one side and aerosols on the other, standard fit in the UK? They look really handy and weren't fitted to my Aus spaceback.
  4. just wanted to say thanks to dubdee1000 for taking the time to write this up. with this guide, i managed to get my columbus fitted in no time. thanks heaps.
  5. It's not exclusive to the tdi. I'm interested in the 90kw tsi myself. Benefits to me are mainly fun since I like gadgets but I can see it also bring useful to control engine braking. Some say also useful to have more control of torque which is needed more in a small petrol engine than in your diesel v10 lambo taxi.
  6. I'm pretty sure mechanical fitment is not an issue when using another Skoda wheel. The trouble will be letting the computer know its there.
  7. Has anyone fitted a DSG paddle shift wheel to a rapid yet?
  8. that's a good idea, I'll ask them if they'll hook me up when i speak to the dealer next. wish i hadn't handed the money over yet, more room for negotiation!
  9. cool thanks for that. Do you know if I can purchase a VW navigation map from legitimate source? Are the VW RNS510's the same apart from the splashscreen?
  10. g'day Inspired by the retrofit threads, on a bit of a whim I've just bought a columbus unit to retrofit in my rapid when it arrives in Australia (futurefit?!). The car is being built this week and should arrive in March. The columbus I bought is a 2nd hand one from the UK. i have a few questions that I'd really appreciate any help on and didnt want to hijack the other threads too much: 1. Is it straightforward to replace the map country. 2. Can I use VW maps or is there Skoda-specific maps? cheers,
  11. Thanks heaps for this. It's completely nonsensical to me but I'll keep a record for when I get around to the install. Hopefully it'll make sense to the dude with the vcds cable!
  12. Ah ok, do you know what exactly needs to be changed? I want to do this install and have been able to track down someone with vcds but they need to know exactly what to do.
  13. I've heard you have to use vcds so that the car knows it has nav in order to repeat the directions in the mfd.
  14. Are you planning on getting the programming done to enable directions to be displayed on the mfd? If so, please can you detail the changes required by vcds?
