  1. No problem. Maybe I didn't state it clearly anyways. The joys of communicating on forums! Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy 🙈
  2. Hi. I swapped the bulb first. With the "new" bulb that was swapped over, it didn't function properly in the "rogue" location. I switched it back to the other side and it worked fine. Can you expand on why you think the idea that it's the holder is incorrect? I've swapped bulbs, and the problem stays in the same spot. Moving the holder and demonstrating that the good one works on the rogue side would suggest the wiring is ok leading to the holder. This leads me to conclusion that the problem is somewhere between the bulb and holder connectors. Can you let me know where my logic fails?
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions. I took the bulb housing from the other side and connected it to the problematic side. The top bulb worked no problem. Which I'm guessing means it's the bulb housing indeed to replace, possibly due to connection issues like Pikpilot mentioned. I also tried to clear the error using VCDS. The error came back straight away.
  4. Hi all. Have a 2006 Diesel Octavia with a bulb warning light in the dashboard. It's one of the rear bulbs, and when I check it, there is a faint light on the filament. I got a new bulb and tried it, but it was the same faint light. The equivalent bulb on the other side is fully lit. Any suggestions?
  5. Ordered a kit in the garage that has two orings as well as the clips that go with it. If I get the part number, I'll post up here. Thanks for taking the time to respond
  6. Thanks MicMac. Was hoping someone might be able to identify so I could pick it up online. Calling them was my backup. I'll try them now.
  7. Hi all. I have a coolant link, and a friend who is a mechanic has identified the problem being a leak on one of the two hoses that enter the cabin together (the bottom one). I need to identify the part number for the o-ring inside the coupler. Can anyone help?
  8. Quick update...car is with mechanic and it looks like it's an ECU fault. Awaiting details.
  9. Yes, it seems to be electrical. The AA weren't able to root cause, but the car was able to limp home for me. Planning to bring to an electrical mechanic as soon as possible. The AA mechanic was able to occasionally replicate the issue was shaking the fuse box in the engine, but everything looks solid in the fuse box. No corrosion visible. Looks like either a loose/faulty connection underneath, or maybe corrosion underneath. Will give an update when I get it sorted.
  10. Thanks Ardle. Just here with AA. That seems to be ok. There's also no faults showing up. It's a bit of a head scratcher. If I start the car, it will run for a few minutes, even if parked, then just cut out.
  11. Hi all. Currently stuck on the side of the road. My Octavia spontaneously shut down while I was driving. All electronics when blank, and the engine stopped. I'll pulled into the hard shoulder, and the car wouldn't give any signs of electrical or mechanical life when I turned the key. After 5 minutes, it started again, but the power steering light was on and was orange. I drive down the road 300m, then the power briefly went off again, but the electrical lights came back on on the dashboard as if I was starting the car. Any thoughts?
  12. Thanks guys. Can anyone suggest where I might start trying to trace the wires?
  13. Hi all. Have a problem with my MK2 2.0TDI Octavia. When the ignition is off, I can't turn on the hazards, and when the engine is switched back on the clock in the car has reset itself. This happens every time I switch off. I tried to check fuses, but any I've replaced doesn't seem to have any effect. Any ideas?
  14. I changed the fuses, but no luck. Everything seems to work when the car is on, so could it be a case that the issue is with a constant power supply that isn't working like it should?
  15. Thanks iriches. Going to check the fuse tomorrow.
