  1. Bought our Superb3 in April 16. Had problems with electric parking brake from about 6months old. Skoda UK insisted “driver error”. It would randomly Release, twice whilst I was outside the vehicle. Once the car ran int a banking smashing a rear light & half removing the back bumper. Skoda uk still insisted “driver error”. The second time we were on the docks in Dunkerque. I had got out from the car to show customs the boot contents when the car rolled back towards them. I managed to jump in the car & stop in. Finally after lots of phone calls to Skoda uk I got a call from the dealer. They replaced the switch on the centre console & the sensor on the pedal. No problems since. The annoying thing- it took 3 years to get this fixed, just outside the warranty period even though I asked them time after time to check & replace the sensors only to be told “we can’t do that sir!!” Cost was £110 only.
  2. Hi,the camera was turning off totally. Finally solved it. The hardwire kit was faulty, the car had been stood for 3 weeks & voltage was down to 11.7v. The lowest battery saving voltage setting was 12.2v. Fitted another set to 11.2v. All working fine now. Just need to fit rear camera now. thanks for the replies. kevin👍👍
  3. Hi, still having major probs with dash cam. It’s an 0803 mini. Works fine hardwired into our 2004 Octavia. Hardwired piggyback on rear wiper fuse. Turn ignition on then have to switch camera on with button. Stays on approx 5 seconds then turns off, although constant 12v from piggyback. Plugged into 12v socket in back seat area it runs for 10 mins exactly then turns off although if turned on will run for 10 mins again. Powered up from 12v socket in boot will run continuously. Suggestion please. Kevin
  4. Hi all, looking for some advice re fitting a dash cam to my 2016 L&K Superb. I believe I can couple to the rear wiper circuit in the fuse box behind the glove box. However I don’t seem able to find a suitable fuse connection. Has anyone fitted to this fuse & if so where did you obtain a suitable adapter please? Any advise or alternative connections to an ignition switched live would be much appreciated. Regards. Kevin.
  5. Hi, just had to disconnect my battery, then re fitted. Everything working apart from ACC, stop-start function, auto park & park assistant. any ideas please. Vag com appears unable to resolve issues. thanks. Kevin. Superb v3 190ps L&K. 2016. battery disconnected to re set smartgate
  6. Hi all, had my car’s second mot at dealers yesterday. Rec’d advisory re contaminated coolant, suggesting a new header tank, heater matrix & full system clean out. Cost £1211.22p !!!!! Apparently Škoda in their wisdom place a small packet of silica in the header tank to extend the life of the coolant for the life of the car. No mention of this was made by the dealer, just strong advise to have the job done before it became a major issue. I can see and feel the “bag” in the tank. To the touch it it feels to be full of a gravelly substance. I intend to remove this after first removing the header tank & flushing the entire system. Usual dealer warnings- very difficult, expensive chemicals required etc. All you need is a vacuum pump and a bit of dexterity to remove the hoses etc. I believe this was common across the whole VW group, although my sister’s mk5 golf, purchased the same week as my car,april2016 is marked On the tank has having the substance in, it cannot be seen. Both cars were brand new factory order and have similar mileage under 30k. has anyone on here come across the same problem please? Kevin.
  7. 2004 L&K 130 6 speed. 2 weeks ago lost 1st & 2nd gear with no warning at all-no noise or anything. Main dealer changed 1st & 2nd selector shaft . Car ok for a few miles then difficult, sometimes impossib;e to select first gear. Now telling me that gearbox casing is worn? Car bought new, has done 100k with no other probs apart from normal maintenance-never been thrashed-still on original brake pads. Always done my own maintenance but unable to do so at the moment due to recent surgery. I suspect I am being hoodwinked somewhere, anyone else had or heard of "gearbox casing wear" with no previous symptons or noises etc. By the way new casing is £750 without labour. TIA kevin
