Wanted VAG Approved Garage Near Wigan
marksed1981 replied to Darrenm72's topic in North West England
Defo Awesome for me too. I'm living in Wigan some of the time (off Darlington Street). Just had my Octy in @ awesome for an intermittent boost issue and ended up leaving with a stage 2 APR remap. Service is fantastic. and judging by the contents of the car park, they defo know their stuff when it comes to anything tuned & VAG If you do use them my advice is leave your credit card at home -
Intake sensor fault.

Thanks guys, Ended up taking your advice and booking it in with Awesome in Manchester, glad I did too..... Boost issue turned out to be an intermittent DV fault due to the way it had been fitted. Once replaced they took it on a run to check everything was working and logging as it should, which it wasn't, The car was mapped prior to my ownership, and as it turns out not very well!! The timing was all over the place and It was running dangerously lean, to the point i'm very lucky I havent cooked it. The guys at awesome lived up to the name and sorted me out with some discount on an APR stage 2 map which is like night and day. Really happy with the results, and although a little pricey much less expensive than a couple of melted pistons. Cant recommend Awesome GTI enough. Top Service. -
Intake sensor fault.

Gonna have to bit the bullet and book it in with someone that knows what they are doing!! I live in Bolton, so close to Preston, Manchester, even Liverpool isn't a million miles away. Anyone recommend a decent garage?? -
Don't know if anyone can help me but i'm pretty much getting to my wits end!! Have a really annoying issue with my Octy vRS tfsi. When i'm driving it hardish with the throttle wide open, she drives great, no issues. As soon as I have been driving it moderately with partial throttle, it wont boost properly and can some times go right up to 3500 rpm before WHOOSH in comes the boost... Checked it in a vag com and its showed PO299 boost pressure below control limit, although this only logs intermittently and not all the time. Checked all the usual stuff, no boost or vacuum leaks, DV is fine as revision D although I did check it, replaced the N75 valve but nothing has cured the issue. Read somewhere on a GTI forum that it could be the intake temp sensor or MAF, tried unplugging the MAF first of all. Took it for a run and the fault seemed to have disappeared, boosting like normal. I took the maf and the intake temp sensors out and gave them a good clean with some brake cleaner. Plumbed it all back together, and eureka all seemed to be well. That was a couple of days ago and guess what, back to normal again. I'm adamant it's an issue with one of these sensors as unplugging/cleaning seemed to help, but don't want to have to replace them both if I can help it. Anyone had any similar issues? any help would be gratefully accepted!!

I might pop along to this..... how may folks usually turn up? -
Just had this issue on my Petrol VRS, was driving me nuts!!! Same fault code, sometimes it felt as if it wasn't making any boost, really sluggish. And other times it would by fine if not a little peaky. Tried all the usual culprits, checked the diverter valve, replaced the n75 with a new vag part, was starting to think it could by an actuator or worse even a turbo fault. Read on another forum it could be a faulty signal from a dirty maf or air temp sensor. Seemed a bit too easy, but removed them both and gave them a good drenching with the trusty break cleaner. Low and behold she's back to her normal self. Seems too obvious but I would seriously recommend giving it a try. Feel a bit stupid for not looking there first

Could be wrong, but I think the best you can hope to achieve on the standard K03 is about 285/290 at an absolute push... For this your gonna need a some sort of intake, carbonio or forge twintake, decat/highflow cat, decent exhaust (miltek or similar), an uprated fuel pump, oh and a decent remap to stage 2+ (think shark do this). I've had everything bar the fuel pump and stage 2+ software fitted to mine (im only running stage 2). Had it on a RR and made 272bhp, and trust me for a daily driver that's plenty!! Unless you have big bucks for a k04 conversion, and plenty spare for new front tyres!!, i'd suggest this might be a good place to start. I bought a few bits second hand, if you went new cant imagine you having much change from £1500 quid. not bad for an extra 60 odd horsepower!!
