guess i made a bad decision buying this then ! ...

i had to buy spacers as both the front tires were rubbing on the inside ...tire size is 245/45/r18. i am thinking of buying 235/40/r18 Falken tires in about 2 months time ...

so this is what happened one day ...i got myself one K&N airfilter for the superb 2.5 v6 .....i havent installed it yet ...i was just wondering ...should i tune the car soon after i install it ?? i do not know if there will be any improvement in engine performance ....im just hoping its gonna be better than stock filter ... dont know if there will be enough clearance for fitment ... it looks tight ...

i know its been a while since i last posted something here. Currently my car is at the body shop undergoing some minor body work and paint. I bought a set of 18inch alloys for my car the other day .....currently shes resting on 245/45/r18 pirelli p zero tyres. i am just concerned as i feel its a little too wide for my liking. my new alloys is 18inch 8j ...does anyone know what is the correct tire size suitable for the alloys ?? even got my mirrors painted the same gunmetal grey color of my alloys

i guess i found the answer to my own question ! my bad.. 53mm for the wheel centre caps. and 90mm for front and rear of the car. awesome. ordering now!! will post pics soon

does anyone know what size are on the wheel hub caps ?? the new chrome skoda logo ?? .... and also on the front and rear ?? size in "mm" would be v grateful

i found the DRL with turn signals with wiring and control unit here in a car accessories shop near my house for £10. !!! o_O ok so i ll get back here after i fix it ...

awesome DRL idea ....i think its simple and elegant .... Automatic boot release !! has anyone done this before ? and how ?? can some1 over here do it and please post DIY pictures so others can also do it ...i really liked the DRL ... thought i'd share it .. this next video is on a passat b5 i believe ...same body n design ..but this guys has shown what he had done to the boot to make the boot release happen..

is it true Touareg shares the same 2.5v6 Tdi as the superb ???

ok i think i know what i want .... but just one small question hovering over my head .... which is more easier to maintain ? fuel economy wise for me anything above 10-12km/l is ok for me ....i am used to that kind of mileage on my superb 2.5 tdi ... is the VRs easy on the pockets ? service wise ...? ..the only reason y i keep asking over and over again is i am currently facing much trouble maintaining my superb..its got ingress and absolutely no power ...(wont give up on her tho...she's going to go in for a full service (gulp) ..) i just don't want my secondary car to give me constant trouble.... saw another VRs today (yellow) ..the colour put me off tho ... i like the RED one i saw couple of days back ....just trying to fix my mind ... most of the 1.9 TDI i saw here between 2005-2008 have a total mileage between 1,00,000 - 1,45,000. !! the VRs i saw two of them were barely run ...35,000km - 50,000km ! i had a smooth driving exp on the VRs..loved the power delivery in each gears and yeah MANUAL transmission was awesome...something my superb lacked.... i am leaning more towards the VRs as of now ...what do u guy think ?

we have the 1.9 PD engines here as the only mk1 engine option....

hello guys ...i drive a Skoda superb 2.5 tdi at present ..it has some issues and needs some sorting out ..while it is in repair i was planning on getting a secondary car for me to move on about ..i saw couple of cars between 2005-2008... I've been reading the pinned threads over here on what to check out on a car before buying and found it quite useful ...i kinda feel this thread is mostly for VRs owners ..... what i wanted to ask is that i am confused between going for a diesel 1.9 tdi ...and the VRs .... i drove both ..n i felt the power deliverance on both the car v different ! i loved the VRs more tho :peek: .... i just wanted to know which is more easier to keep around with regards to upkeep, maintenance of engine and fuel economy..as i don't want the secondary car to be in trouble often like my superb... sorry if this question has been asked before ...

personal preferences that's all ......i personally like the newer logos...especially when fitted to an older model Skoda's

....wasted a year trying to find someone locally here who could help me with this ...i am going to try and attempt doing by myself.....will be taking it to a garage to get the pollen filter re-sealed first as i don't have a seal for pollen filter to use at home. Or could you suggest one that i could buy off ebay ?
