  1. Greetings New Skoda Karoq SEL 1.5Tsi acquired. Now back to Skoda after almost three yaers driving a SEAT Ateca Missed the small niceties that you get with Skoda but not with SEAT Moveable hooks in the boot Detachable light in boot Parking ticket clip Split rear seat three ways and possible to lay flatish with rear seats folded (can only fold rear onto base of seat in SEAT - not flat at all) Minus point only one USB in front of Skoda (two in SEAT)
  2. Halesowen is classed as wider Black Country as it is part of Dudley which has no "W" but is definitely part of the Black Country- I work in Cradley (which is now part of Halesowen) next to Cradley Heath both being the heart of the Black Country - no "W" in sight!!!
  3. Finally have upgraded the map on the yeti satnav - got a VW disc from the internet for only £19.95 post free. Elsewhere on the form, a user had posted a link to the website- can order west or east europe CD - it arrived in good time too Took ages to install but did warn me if I tried to take out the cd too soon. Much happier with the £20 option but how come an octavia owner can do this for nothing?
  4. Skoda Yeti 60 plate 2010 Elegance 4x4 would not work with Samsung Galaxy s3 - kept connecting then disconnecting he after 5 minutes of this disconnected and gave up. So if you have an older series Yeti or Octavia/Superb etc.. beware- modern smartphones might not work... Yeti 2014 plate connects to S3 with no problem - but will a newer phone????
  5. Sorry, should have updated this thread - went to dealer, wanted to relieve me of £180 for the disc to update the sat nav. Told them, ever so politely, that I could get two tomtoms for that price and that they could.......... so no deal and an out dated sat nav on the L&K that I could have updated if I had spent less money and bought an Octavia instead... Way to go Skoda - big selling technique on your top of the range Yeti!! Not!
  6. Finally got a reply from Skoda UK - the satnav can only be updated from a CD- ordered from Skoda dealer!!!! So that answers the question but why did the dealer say I had to do it via download- obviously, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing!! Thanks for all the suggestion, guys.... now to order the discs.......
  7. You see, that's the funny thing, I've been to the skoda dealer and they say it's a customer download but have no information on how to do it. I've dscovered my map is a navteq 8048 but other than that I've no idea on whether this is up to date or if it can be updated or how?
  8. Ok yes, it's a columbus system ..... however, the question still remains how do you update the satnav map on a yeti L&K 2014 satnav system?
  9. Anyone know how to update the map on the Yeti L&K amundsen unit? It doesn't seem to be the same as the Octavia amundsen sat nav (which I found instruction for). But there is no instructions that I can find on the Skoda website on how to update the Yeti version. Anyone got the knowledge or ideas?
  10. Hi I'm on my fourth Skoda - Octavia Mark I for 5 years, Octavia Mark II for five Years, Yeti Mark i 140 4x4 elegance 3.5 years on lease on now Yeti L&K 170 diesel manual bruno russo 2014 plate on 3.5 year lease. Had queries on some oddities on the new yeti and the forum seems to help so I've joined. Petergee Halesowen, Uk PS it's not really West Midlands anymore but how else do you decribe the area? - Black Country is not so familiar these days outside of this area.
