  1. Hi guys, just a bit of background info for the car to begin with: Its a 2007 BLT Mk1 Fabia VRS, with egr delete, decat, straight through exhaust, hybrid pd17/52 turbo, s2000 air filter, remapped by ##!!##h at approx 200~bhp/300~ftlb. Recently blew the gearbox up so replaced the gearbox for a second hand gearbox (covered 110k but good condition). Also seen this as an opportunity to replace the clutch/flywheel as I suspected they were in need of being done. So also replaced them with a valeo single mass flywheel conversion kit. I also replaced the battery a day later for a new one. Also had another problem a few weeks ago causing dodgy electronics, as the ground from the car battery was becoming weak and eventually snapped. Got that welded back on though. So the problem (I say problem, it doesn't affect performance) is that usually the car idles at approx 800rpm. Since getting the gearbox, clutch, flywheel and battery changed it has intermittently started ticking over at 1000rpm. Not all the time though. Also been having another infrequent problem in which when starting the car, it dies and cuts out. This only happens when starting it from hot, and can be solved by keeping the ignition key turned forward when starting the engine. Not sure what either problems are, or of they're related.   2. Just to let everybody know, I bought these parts. I had to cut the 70° metal elbow down in length slightly, and my mechanic modified the ends of the elbow so the silicone hoses don't fly off. All fitted perfectly though
  3. Ah brilliant stuff. If you don't mind would you be able to post some pictures and/or links to the parts you've used? What sort of figures are you getting out of the car with all the work you've done to it?
  4. Is that blue silicone pipe on the outlet of the turbo? I've also got a 17/52 hybrid fitted. I've sleeved the original boost pipe to the outlet with a silicone, but it keeps slipping off under high boost pressure. I was wondering what you've done to get around this problem haha. Great thread by the way! Had a good nosy through everything and you seem to really know your stuff

  7. Hope everybody has had a good Christmas. Just before Christmas I got my 07 VRS back from having a hybrid turbo fitted. Since getting it back from my mechanic the immobiliser has been playing up, I can lock the car and open the boot from the key, but I cannot unlock it unless I use the lock on the drivers door. When I unlock it from the door, the red light on the popper still flashes, and when I turn the ignition on the alarm sounds one beep then goes off along with the red light on the popper. It's not too much of a problem but it's highly annoying when I need to go somewhere when everybody is in bed! If anybody has any ideas what has happened I'd be highly appreciative of it!

  9. I've purchased a gt17/52 hybrid off xman750 cheers for all the help people, hopefully have it fitted and remapped by Monday or Tuesday! Will post results.
  10. I was close to buyingr a pd150 turbo from darkside about an hour ago, the price seemed a bit steep when it added the VAT on though. I'm tempted to get a hybrid off xman750! I'm from Stockport/South of Manchester pal.
  11. Okay so everybody seems to like xman's turbos, would anybody be able to post some links towards turbos that'll fit my car? I've done a quick search on here but I can't quite find what I'm looking for!

  13. Sorry to double post but I forgot to add, the plan is to fit a new turbo and get it remapped & serviced. I bought the car with a remap and I'm not too keen on the way it's mapped. Seen the oppertunity to upgrade for a few more ponies but don't know where to start haha.
  14. Hi guys, I blew the standard KKK turbo up on my 2007 mk1 Vrs.
