  1. Look Guys, Very simply I have NEVER bought privately before. There is HPI outstanding, that I am sure is not an insurmountable obstacle , I am simply seeking a very competent mechanically minded individual who just loves Skoda Superb Estates, who can verify that the vehicle is as stated In the interim I will have exercised a full HPI check: Need to ascertain the following: No evidence of crash/ repair. Chassis , Log etc is 100% 1 Previous Owner so I have requested original bill of sale. Mileage for year is tiny. Looking for someone to say yeigh or neigh as in yes or no, and report back and collect relevant fee. Many thanks for the interest expressed. I am overly cautious as I have been commissioned to purchase this vehicle if 100% with additional orders on the sidelines, given that Sterling has become somewhat attractive on an exchange rate basis once again. So if I can identify a knowledgable individual this most likely is not a " one off" commission. Eoin. Derrycullen.
  2. I expect I will be seeking a very knowledgable Skoda mechanic to critically asses a 2014 Superb Estate Elegance model on my behalf , with full remuneration for his / her time effort report, in the general Watford area within the next 10 days , If all goes to plan I Will be travelling from Cork to potentially privately purchase the car in question should all be transparent and positive. Perhaps there is a fellow forum member who is suitably qualified in the 1st instance or alternately who can direct me to such an individual of unblemished reputation who will undertake the necessary motor check on my behalf prior to departure. Many Thanks.

  4. Indeed, but the article I have just read online is that VW are expecting that European settlements will match or emulate those of their US counterparts and the markets are suggesting that the VW dividend will be suspended to allow for same ,
  5. I essence that appears to be one of my outstanding issues/ questions ? As I am happy that the car is indeed a CR 140 SE (17" rims) & not an Elegance model were heated front seats an extra option on this model ? Incidentally I have just noted on Bloomberg that a report has appeared whereby all VW owners ( Read VW/ Skoda/ Audi in Europe) in the US affected by the "manipulation / mis representation of emissions "are in line for a $5000 award per vehicle ! Watch this space I suspect. !
  6. Indeed that should have read CR140 SE . Still somewhat confused with the reference to "heated front seats" ! Obviously this car is unseen until collection so one must rely on the integrity of the advert but would like to have my " ducks in a row " as to what was /is / verifiable ex Factory spec compliant as per year model before payment . In this regard I have insisted that a 2nd set of keys be provided. There is a 12 month warranty but is non applicable once car leaves UK ! By and large have found most UK dealers to be honourable thus far & attempting to consolidate this deduction currently from a distance !
  7. John, This is my 2nd Superb Estate TDI CRSE 140 ex UK & unequivocally the very best car I have EVER driven. My 1st I bought Sept. 2014 with 84k miles & have sold on as virtually "out of the box" with 128 k miles ! My mileage is mostly UK / motorway with full service history down to the last wiper blade ! Slightly confused as 17" wheels, Elegance 18" as you know but advertised with heated front seats which I thought were on the Elegance only ? Car has 78k miles so have arrangements in place to immediately replace timing belt/water pump etc. Even with VRT paid on arrival significant saving as against Irish equivalent ! Derrycullen. Cork
  8. I am currently in the process of purchasing ex Uk the above car. Can some knowledgable member please confirm what standard breakdown equipment was supplied with the above model , namely wheel wrench, towing eye, wheel locking nut , tyre repair kit etc ? Was a first the aid kit supplied ? Was an umbrella supplied as standard ? The model in question ((Nov 2012) is advertised with Columbus Sat Nav, Bluetooth & heated front seats. Many thanks as ever. Derrycullen. Cork.

  10. Collected my 2011 Superb Estate (140 BHP) last Friday in Surrey before drive home to Cork. Mileage 84K but for sheer peace of mind had the belt & water pump replaced prior to collection. The dealer stated not necessary in his opinion but it was a " good & regular earner" for his service dept ! Rang some main dealers in U.K. & like other contributors received varying opinions regarding recommended mileage before replacement ( 100K>140K miles). Rang dealers on this side of the water and all seemed to believe circa 100K Kilometres (62KMiles) was the norm ! Certainly like Easter Sunday it appears to be " a moveable feast " !
  11. Many thanks to both contributors. I will investigate further on Monday. I have already made contact with one of the ebay adverts and again a cream cover is on offer ! As a 1st time Skoda owner delighted that such a forum as this exists to garner information and source & exchange knowledge.
  12. Would greatly appreciate if anyone has knowledge as to where I might procure at relatively short notice a 2nd hand luggage cover(working) to match the grey interior of my 2011 Superb Esate. Going to U.K. on Friday to pick up the car & the original retractable cover is malfunctioning (not retracting) and am anxious if possible to find a replacement before I travel. Have tried without success a number of 2nd hand parts/ breakers and the only offer was a cream substitute! Many Thanks.
