Thanks for the replies, all sorted now wife took car to our friendly garage where we have the mot done and they pluged it on machine and removed fault codes. in there words car had a fart !!! and put lights on . I checked the terminals on battery and all tight etc . car is 2003 03 model.

These lights have come on Engine Management , Traction control / Electronic stability , Abs and brake fluid level and handbrake light was constantly flashing.she got home told me about it .only one's on now are EM and Traction control. I asked if the car felt underpowered or signs of juddering etc but was fine like normal.

Trying to find service info for said car on net is a pain in my arse. I have got service kit today ie filters and oil and plugs but can't seem to find any service info on that particular engine or model of car with that engine. Got fuel filter but buggered if i can find it in the engine bay as there are 2 types which are fitted so bought both to avoid hassle . Some one picked up Haines manual for me back along but found out model is not covered so had to be returned. Also can you reset service inspection display yourself or is that a garage job? My wife's mk1 2.0 elegance has developed a number of enoyning fault at the moment. The first is the rear nearside passenger door will not open with the central locking, the button pop's up half way but that's it.The second is that when you start the engine you get the sound of zzzzz from the starter motor which I thought could be a dry bendix gear or something like that and the last thing is when ignition is turned on we get bulb / light warning on dash but have no blown bulbs or faulty lights but obviously there is a fault somewhere. Your help with these problems would be helpful. Car is a 2003 Fabia mk1 2.0 mpi elegance. Cheers Jim.
