  1. Welcome to the Forum, my Fabia is at 110k now and still goes very well, due to company car rules I am having to change it, I don't know if the high miles will hinder the sale but we will see, I've had most the work done listed above on the car....
  2. I have had the car in the Garage, and have found what seems to be no fault with the Pump or the leads, I had noticed the Battery indicator light hadn't been appearing on the dash so they have checked this out and think a new alternator could solve the problem, its been a couple of weeks now and I have not had a problem with the Battery going flat? Could the alternator be at fault?
  3. Really? That sounds simple, is it an easy DIY fix? Thanks.
  4. When I started my car first thing this morning and then when I left work tonight the Steering was very heavy - the power steering was not working - after 30seconds or so it started working again. Is this a pump problem? once working all was fine, but I don't want it to stop all of a sudden! There have been no strange noises (from the steering at least!) Any ideas? Expensive?
  5. Whats the current tyre of choice? need a new pair of fronts. Wanting to spend around £75 each hopefully less. Seen Toyo T1R's (Think thats the right ones) for £75 which I didn't think was too bad. Currently running Yokohama S306's all round. Want a set with good wear rates as I do a lot of miles and not something thats going to slip and slide everywhere in the wet. Also a good place to buy would be good (online or Suffolk/Cambs area) - currently looking at Event Mobile tyres.
  6. My Policy on the 968 is cheaper than my Skoda on a classic policy with Track cover included, obviously limited on mileage. I took out a policy once on my Boxster which at the time was worth about £19k, the insurance was £150ish for the day with an excess of 10% (£1900!!!)
  7. Thanks guys, got it working, now just need to know if the earth point is ok. Tom
  8. I don't think I would pay, if you take your car on track uninsured your obviously prepared to take the risk of it being damaged. I have done quite a few track days in the past, never had a collision with another car, I did have a collision with a cone in my Boxster a few years back which cost me £750 to repair, I enjoyed doing the damage so kind of didn't care (although didn't like the expense!) would have been more gutted if someone had hit the car in a car park and driven off (if that makes sense!) My 968 is insured fully comp for track days under a classic car policy, if I suffer damage on a trackday I would probably expect the claim against my policy for my car no matter what the circumstances. (The excess does increase from £100 to £750 for trackdays!)
  9. 1. Stug71 2. Tim (maybe) 3. tjdixon (maybe) will be able to convince another...
  10. My car is fast approaching the 100k club, just wondering if many others are there yet? When ever I look at other VRS for sale they tend to be lower mileage cars...... I bought mine with 10k on the clock 3 years ago, and I will hit the 100k first week of September... Mine was good the first two years then the Head Gasket went, followed closely by the Injectors last year, had another good year until the Bushes disintigrated (sp?) recently - total cost of these 3 items was circa £2k!!! Has no performance mods :( It all seems good now and hoping to keep it for another year.... Would I have another Skoda - YES....
  11. Thanks, I have the earth attached to the screw/bolt under the rubber cap in the centre rear of the HU, is this ok? it would appear to make contact with the back metal plate which contacts where your picture indicates. Thanks Tom
  12. Have posted this elsewhere but was pointed to this forum, hope you can help Hi I have just installed a Connects2 Ipod kit to my Symphony HU, it only took me half hour and I'm a numpty when it comes to this sort of thing, even got the wires into the glovebox. Anyway - now need to get it working so need some help; The Ipod charges whilst plugged in but I can't get my HU to switch over to the CD changer mode, how do I do this? I assume I have plugged into the correct slot (top right corner as you look at the back of the HU). Also is the screw (covered by the rubber cap) in the center of the HU an earth point? I have currently got my earth connected to that. I did find a topic illustrating the answers to the above but can't seem to find it any more. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Tom
  13. Sorry, I don't have the CD changer, I just can't work out how to select the CD changer channel/input (which is what the Ipods connected on)

  15. Having a bit of trouble at the moment, my car seems to be loosing water from the coolong system, First off it took a week to set the sensor off then more recently about 3 days!! I have recently had the cambelt done at which point they changed the water pump. Although the gaarge that did the work have checked the car out they say there is no evidence of a leak at the pump. So far they have checked the car out, changed the resevoir cap (There appeard to be residue from a leak down the side of the bottle) and said if its not that then its the head gasket!?! Anyway having now changed jobs (this week) I no longer go near the garage that done the work so if it is the pump will it still be under the parts guarentee if someone else does the work? (From what I gather its an awkward job which is why they do it with the cambelt) Just thought I'd check on here to see if anyone had any ideas? The works were carried out by an independant. Thanks Tom
