  1. This question has been asked a few times on this topic but I couldn't find any answers. Is there a need to have 2 of each size of spacer? In the description only one of each size is mentioned. Thanks, Shane
  2. Here's an update (better late than never!), When I got the VC5 document through the post I rang VOSA and found out the car had done 240k in April 14, the mileage displayed is 95k so someone did some serious clocking! I think the speedo and RPM needle flickering may be due to the mileage, its not a major problem so I'll just deal with it, I don't fancy spending too much money on the car at this stage.
  3. Thanks for the advice, I have got in touch with another member from my area who will hopefully be able to check the ECU mileage using VCDS in a few weeks. I'll be sure to post the outcome.
  4. I Didn't notice it when I test drove it, discovered it the next day.. I'll post in the fabia section next time!
  5. Hello, I have searched for information on this topic but I can't find anyone with the same problem. I bought a 2007 Fabia VRS SE 1.9 tdi last week, the needles for the RPM counter and the speedo are visibly moving in small steps in stead of moving smoothly. My previous car was also a VRS and I didn't have this problem with it. I think the car may have been clocked at some stage as I'm pretty sure the service history stamps are not genuine. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks for your comments in advance!
  6. Thanks for the comments folks, I have a better understanding of this area now. I'll be mindful of this next time I'm thinking I could get away with 6th gear for fuel efficiency, a flywheel is more expensive than some diesel!
  7. Hi there, I drive an 07 Skoda Fabia VRS. In relation to minimising the stress going through the clutch whilst driving, I've been told by quite a few people that driving in 6th gear at low RPM, say 1500 RPM for arguments sake, is bad for the clutch, and its not as bad to drive at low RPM in lower gears. If this is true why is this so? Does the total weight of the 6th gear assembly weigh more that the 1st gear assembly? I thought it would only affect the clutch if you were to accelerate harshly at low RPM, and that this isn't a good idea in any gear but it would be worse for the clutch in 1st gear than in 6th because 1st gear accelerates faster i.e. produces more torque. Any thoughts would be appreciated, Thanks.
