Got a quote from a trusted independent local garage, £375. Saved myself £75 with a phone call, I'll get them to do a couple of other small jobs while it's there.

I've been quoted £450 to change the cambelt and waterpump on my 07 Octy Vrs. is that good, bad or about right?

Dealer prices are ridiculous! If it needs a new compressor /drier etc go to a good independent. Prices will be cut by about 50%

I have found a new A/C compressor for a good price just need to get it fitted. How many hours labour should I expect to be charged for? Is this a simple job or a long and complicated one?

Replacing the antenna, is it an easy DIY job?

I've had my 2007 Octy vRS for over two years now and I'm tired of not being able to get clear radio reception. It might be good for a couple of miles but it always breaks up eventually. Does anyone know why this is? Every other car I've owned I have been able to listen to the radio on a long journey without having to constantly hit the scan button. I don't really want to replace the head unit but could try a new aerial. Suggestions on solutions please.

I tried to upload a recording of the problem but this site comes back with "You're not allowed to upload this type of file" :no: Also I'm getting a slight vibation through the clutch when manoevering (Sp?) with the system on 'Auto', does not happen with the system on 'Econ'. I'm keeping it on Econ until I can get it fixed, just in case !

I had it re-gassed a couple of months back but the noise is back and louder than ever :( I think it's had it basically. Very noisy on Auto but silent on Econ. I'm assuming it's the compressor thats the problem, anybody got a part number for the right compressor? A 2007 Octy 2.0 TFSi vRS hatchback. Had a look on Ebay and new prices are a bit steep, will be looking for a recon unit possibly in March / April 2017. Don't see much point replacing immediately won't be using Auto mode much in the next few months anyway.

I went for a while without dental examinations in my teens and 20s. I paid for it later with toothaches, fillings and root canals, you were lucky ! Now have annual checkups, started with 6 monthly until the dentist got confidence in me, and haven't needed any work on my gnashers for 5 years Had a check-up last week, all good ! PS - I hate flossing but do it anyway.

Do you have a Tesco Clubcard ? Does it have any vouchers on it that you could convert into tokens? You can get £30 worth of tokens for only £10 worth of vouchers. If you have such things go onto the Clubcard portion of the Tesco web site, look at Europcar van hire. You can pay all or part of the cost of hiring a van with Europcar with Tesco tokens from the clubcard !

My only advice is avoid the Brussels ring road ! Bunch of loons, worse than the French for driving !
