  1. Hi, I've refurbished the front one of my Felicia 1.3 MPI of 1998. It was like the ones showed by RicardoM. I remove all the old paint and apply a new one (from mine model scale construction kit ) from the inside, lacquered at the end. It's not a professional job but, for me, it's better than before. Now i need to do it to the rear one (for now its in good enough state).
  2. Hi all, Fortunately in Portugal we still can see a lot of them, pre-face lift and after. I had bought a 1998 1.3 GLXi ( Burgundy Red! ) last September (my kid first car). I always like those "strange" looking beauties, and since my first car, bought by me, was 1990 Favorit 1.3 GLX, i take the chance and "closed" the circle with this Felicia with 61000 Kms, and a 500€ price tag. Since then i had spend a lot of weekend nights in the garage , and had spent some € in some needed things (exhaust line, battery, alternator diode plaque, etc). But its a joy to see the kid and his friends enjoying the car. Now the kid its studying in Poland for a few more months and the poor Felicia its being neglected, having only a few hours in the weekend to spend with him . Next weekend project: use a dehumidifier to clean all the water in the isolation fabric (near the fuse box), disconnect battery, clean and spray all the nearby connectors, replace windscreen and rubber sealing, and hope that will solve the flickering headlights and airbag light! All said, i like very much my difficult "Burgundy Monster", thanks for the Forum and for unconditional love for the Felicia! :sun: Malka

  5. Again, thanks Ricardo, Yesterday i had the opportunity to spray the socket with an electric circuit protection spray, and after a 15 minutes period i turn on the lower speeds and...voilá!! :p Only in speed 3 i have a little noise, but at the weekend i will dismantle the blower and spray the entire resistance. For you Ricardo, thanks a lot, mainly by helping think out the problem. I'm not an expert DYI (not even an amateur), but being sent in the right direction is a good learning opportunity. Best Regards, Malka
  6. Thanks Ricardo! I will try spraying some wd 40 (for electric contacts), and reconnect. As you mentioned, at worst case scenario i will need to change the connectors (next weekend work! ). By the way, what kind of mesh have you in the air intake? It's for the excessive rain? Thanks, Malka
  7. Hi all, today i spent the afternoon dismantle the air blower, mainly because he was rumbling at speed 2 and 3 and sending a bad smell to the interior. I open the thing, tested the motor when open and see that some bits of rubber from the shutter are in the blades. Then i remove the piece that support the shutter and remove the battered rubber from the shutter, clean it and mounted the thing. The problem is that now, the blower only works in speed 4. The shutter works fine, even with the rubber missing and the blower is fine in speed 4, but only 4! I mounted the all thing and during the week i will try to find a scrap unit to test. If any of you can send me some ideas i will appreciate. PS: I did notice that the connector to the shutter have 3 of the 4 pins with rust and was tough to disconnect. Thanks to all, Malka
  8. Hi all, Tonight, after work, i will dismantle (again!) the alternator and send to a friend that will replace the diode plate with a new one i meanwhile had bought. I hope that with the new plate and a new regulator i will finally have the ******** battery light turn off! Again, thanks you all. Malka
  9. I will try it, but yesterday, after removing the alternator i realize i have a 90A alternator and the regulator i bought is to a 70A alternator unit. First of all i will change the regulator to a right one and if the problem persist try the first option because the lamp do the ignition test and after ignition is still on, not so bright but on, and after i rev the motor it became brighter still. Thank you so much for your time, i'm not a expert auto electrician or even a mechanic but i'm really getting annoyed by this!! And having feed back from people who knows is making me fell not so alone with my Felicia! :p
  10. Hi TeflonTom, i have the same problem and already have changed the regulator. The light is now weaker, but with the revs going up became brighter. I'm becoming paranoid about this! The battery is now charging, the alternator with 14,2v/14,4v, and the car starting normally. MalkaTuga
  11. Hi Guys, I need to repair a scratch do it to my Felicia 1.3 MPI with a key ( front panel to back panel! ), and i was thinking using a "pen" to correct somehow but reading about the aerosol cans might be a better solution. What do you suggest? Thanks. Cheers, MalkaTuga
  12. Hello all. My name is Sérgio and i'm from Portugal. I'm the proud owner of a 1998 Felicia 1.3 MPI. Technically is the first car of my boy, but mainly its an opportunity for me to spend quality time in the garage... Its funny because my first car was a 1990 Favorit 136 GLS, and he was first of all, a companion. Now, its time to my son to understand what being a "vintage" Skoda owner means. I have read some threads in the last few days and see a multinational community "in love" with their Skodas, ready to help each other. I hope i can be of assistance and spend good time talking about this incredible machine. Greetings from Portugal MalkaTuga PS: For now are the only 2 available photos.
