  1. Collected the car this morning and then had a pleasant drive back from Epsom.
  2. Well one sleep and less than 24 hours to go! Not counting but ....
  3. Our new Yeti arrived at the dealers on Wednesday and I collect the new one on Tuesday morning. All I have got to do, apart from the wait, is to pay for the Dartford Crossing charges. 120 hours to go!!!
  4. I have been told that it should be less than 2 weeks. There are 3 factors that affect the timing, first there are 5000 cars to move off the ship. Second each car has to be scanned and third the availability of the car transporters. The car has to get from Sheerness to Epsom and then has to have the final preparation for handover to be carried out. I assume that it must be a well tried system to move 5000 cars off the ship because, as I understand it, the ship has a fairly quick turn round. Assuming that it takes 2 weeks then it will have been just over 3 weeks from being built to delivery to the garage. Quite impressive.
  5. I have just had a telephone call from the garage to say the the ship containing my new car (Yeti SE L Drive Quartz Gray 1.2 DSG) arrived at Sheerness this morning. So the final countdown to my second Yeti has begun.
  6. The VW Tiguan is only available in the UK with diesel engines whereas there are 2 petrol engines in Germany.
  7. I have a 64 FL 1.2 Elegance DSG with Amundesn Sat Nav. Its a great car. I have just returned from a visit to the West Country, a trip of 200 miles including A and B roads and Motorways M4 and M25. The Yeti is a very comfortable drive and is relaxed at Motorway speeds. Overall I averaged 40mpg which is not bad. I agree that boot space is a little limited however the flexible seating arrangement is a real bonus. It is a very impressive headturner. and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
  8. These appear on the German Skoda website. See http://www.skoda-auto.de/models/yeti-joy/yeti_joy/
  9. Thanks GoneOffskirootoot, have sent an email to Alasdair Stewart Brand Director Skoda UK and will let you all know the result.
  10. I spoke to a handler at Customer Services, who in turn spoke to a lady manager in marketing, unfortunately I could not get the name of the marketing manager. Notwithstanding all this, the bottom line is that Skoda UK, for whatever reason, are not selling what I want namely a 1.4dsg outdoor 4x4 which is available in 3 different engine power ratings in Germany.
  11. I too have spoken to Skoda UK today, to ask if there's any likelihood of the 1.4Tsi becoming available in the UK with DSG gearbox. Like speedsport I was told there was no demand. I asked on what this assumption was based and was told that only from dealer enquiries!!! I then asked if they looked at online sites like Briskoda and the answer was no!!!! Perhaps it is time for a Briskoda survey that could then be used to persuade Skoda UK to change their minds. I also pointed out that the Skoda.de site had many more petrol 4x4 dsg options.

  13. I am into the second month of running my new FL 1.2DSG Elegance. I am very impressed with its performance and fuel comsumption, just over 40mpg. It is a very smooth drive and very responsive.
