  1. I'd say mine sounded worse, it progressed over a period of time and just steadily got worse.
  2. I've has this little beauty from new since Nov 2016, there's only 6 months left on the current contract hire lease. Looking around at a replacement at the moment and I've got to say nothing else really comes close, particularly in terms of standard specification. It will definately be the plug in version this time as most of my miles are within my hometown and I know I can eek out thousands of miles on one tank of fuel in the warmer months of the year having already had this experience with our second car - a Kia Niro PHEV. Dilemma is that the Octavia VRS plug in is due shortly and the Enyaq will be due early 2021. Having has a 2014 Octavia VRS I do know that the Superb does feel more grown up and more refined, but the new car does look a bit of a game changer and then the Enyaq, that definitely will be a game changer. Decisions, decisions??
  3. I've had the same problem on my 66 plate Superb hatch, both struts replaced under warranty by the main Skoda dealer without any fuss
  4. Same issue for me with a Mk3 Superb, inactive Front assist during a long motorway journey. Cleaned the car, no joy. Spoke to Skoda dealer, £450 to get it calibrated - this is a joke right? then car is 12 months old and under warranty and you want me to pay you £450 for your delicate sensor? Some one please tell me this is a joke.....
  5. I have a L&K Superb with the DCC, mine has been with the dealers for a creaking noise which was developing (thankfully sorted) and I was provided with a Superb Sportline without DCC. The Sportline bounces around over speed humps quite alarmingly, didn't expect that at all with the sports suspension. My advice is to definitely get a long test drive in and make sure your happy with the ride & handling characteristics. I had the Sportline for 2 weeks and boy oh boy I am glad to be back in the L&K simply from the viewpoint of ride and handling.
  6. Went to my local dealer (RRG Skoda Rochdale) when the status was showing 1,000 miles left to AdBlue top up - they charged me a total of £13.00 to fully top it up.
  7. Mine went in for its first service at 19,000 miles (18 month old VRS) - total cost of service £129 including vat at my local Skoda dealer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Mine came with Bridgestone Potenza S001's (18 inch VRS wheels) managed to get 19,000 miles out of the fronts, rears are at 4mm so have left them. Changed the fronts for more of the same as I've found the Potenza's very good all round. I do drive carefully, but can see how someone could shred them in 10k miles, wouldn't take much, just a heavy right foot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I'm in need of the lightning cable with the red collar, does anyone have a web link please? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thought I'd do a thorough test on all the cars mentioned in the title before deciding on one for a personal contract hire - all are similar in contract hire pricing and reasonably similar in terms of performance and fuel consumption. Unconventionally, I'll start with my verdict....and that of the wife and kids :-) 1. Skoda 2. BMW 3. Lexus 4. Infiniti No surprises that there aren't many Infiniti's on the road - simply put, its outclassed by the rivals. Lexus, actually a joint second with the BMW, and actually drives a little better all round that the Beemer in my opinion. The BMW has lost some of its sparkle (I'd had 3 530d Sports about 10 years ago) the steering feels numb, the handling is not as sharp as that of the Skoda, the throttle response is also not as sharp and the gearbox is not transitioning from gear to gear as smoothly as the Skoda when both cars are in sport mode. The BMW also feels too "clinical", there is no drama at all, its just too quiet. I know many have complained about the sound generator in the VRS, but I'd rather have such artificial sound piped into the car than near silence and no drama when pushing the car hard. All the cars were test driven for a minimum of a 48 hour test drive, the Skoda and the Infiniti were provided on 4 day test drives. I've had the final car today (the BMW) and asked the wife and kids for their opinion having sampled all four cars - unanimous verdict .....Skoda - good choice as I have a Candy white VRS TDi estate due on the 3rd Dec......options? Sunset glass, Pan Roof, Black Pack, Leather seats with white stitching, folding mirrors.
