  1. Probably not much help but I am considering getting one of these to use with my iphone. The plan is to put the unit under the aircon controls, mount a usb socket in one of the blanked out buttons underneath and cobble the wiring together behind. Should be a nice clean install.

    MPG

I've had my 2011 1.2TSI DSG Yeti for 6 weeks and although I like the car I am very disappointed with the MPG. I am getting round about 30mpg. Most of my driving is the daily commute through London so lots of traffic but even with this 30mpg seems low. I am fairly light on the gas and my revs are usually around the 20 mark. Am I doing something wrong? is there a problem with the car? or is this just the mileage I can expect?
  3. Ive done a bit of searching and I can't find a definitive answer so would be grateful for advice. I have the standard Bolero HU in a 2011 yeti. I want to use my iphone with it (no BT) for both phone and podcasts. So I fitted the Fiscon plus module. It works great for calls from the HU but controlling through the MFD is poor and clunky. What upset me most is the A2DP. This is terrible. Sound is poor with loads of mobile interference and occasionally cant get A2DP at all. I tried using AUX in but have to unplug it to hear calls. A bit of a pain considering the AUX in plug is under the armrest. So, I'm considering getting an MDI interface with iPhone cable. Can the FIscon module and MDI interface be used together? Is there a specific wiring loom or is hacking necessary? Any advice would be good. With thanks Note to the mods, a similar thread started by me was moved to the Yeti forum and died. Please keep under ICE where it may get replies. With thanks.
  4. Thanks for this. The satnav is in the box on top of the dash.
  5. I have a UK spec Yeti SE 2011 bought recently as a used car. The stereo is the Bolero unit with 3.5mm aux in jack in the centre console. I fitted a fiscon plus bluetooth module which works fine with the phone funcions but there is loads of phone interference on A2DP. Also sometimes the A2DP wont work. Not overly impressed. I fancy fitting another Aux in onto one of the blanked off buttons under the aircon controls. Where is the best place to 'steal' it from? Is there anywhere near by in the wiring loom or at the back of the stereo? or do I have to remove the whole centre console to where the current aux in is in the box? If the latter, how do I remove the console? I am generally happy doing this sort of thing myself. So far I have fitted a 12v socket to the map pocket for sat nav and fitted an active mount for my iPhone. With thanks
  6. Hi. I'm new. I have a deposit down on a used (brown) 2011 Skoda Yeti 5-Dr 1.2 TSI SE DSG. I should get the car on monday and thanks to this site already have planned and bought the parts to run a 12v socket to the map pocket to place a satnav.
  7. Thanks for this. I should get the car in a couple of days. Cant wait. 1.2 SE DSG (in brown unfortunately). It was a lucky find. My car dies (oil pump went) a week ago and its not worth the cost of fixing on a 10 year old Mazda 6 with 110000 on the clock. Was lucky to find a Yeti (which I had been mulling over for a while) at the right price with reasonable milage and age in a distance that the mazda would reach without seizing up for trade in. Counting the minutes until I collect it and buying parts for mods. Also, where would you mount a phone, pillar or side of radio? bearing in mind that I hate blocking windscreen view and want to run a power supply to it. Again with thanks.
  8. I enjoyed your PDF on Sat nav installation, in fact it's one of the things that swayed me to buy a yeti (not yet taken delivery) as it's the same set up that I've had in a Mazda 6 for a while with a fold down Tomtom satnav. I've got the parts and it looks like an easy instal. What l would like to know is the best way to feed the line from the fuse box to the map pocket. With thanks
