  1. Hi all, Is the small lower piece of the drivers door mirror available to buy on its own. If so, is there a part number for it. It's a 2001 1.9 SDI Classic.
  2. Hi all, I'm after some 15" or 16" steel wheels for m octy 1, if anyone has some for sale. Thanks, Eddie.
  3. Hi all, I followed the other post on the forum, with regards the removal, in one piece, and manipulate, it comes out ( persevere ) Took the linkage to my garage and unclipped the motor arms, tried both spindles, drivers side solid. Removed circlip, washer, and o-ring. Put two nuts on the wiper retaining thread. Gently tapped for a good while, supporting the aluminium body on some semi rigid plastic ( Edge of a traditional bin ). Kept tapping, moved about 3mm, then it seemed to go a bit loose, it was not loose, the entire tread, and both nuts fell off ( Disaster ). Stood looking at it disbelief for 10 minutes, thinking there's no way I'm going to buy another one. Not likely, solution evolves. Thread snapped, keep knocking it out. Becomes free, full of galvanitic corrosion, clean well, rolled sand paper, air line etc. Sand wiper arm shaft, keep checking fit, make sure it is very free. Once free, move to step two. Centre punch the middle if the snapped thread, drill a 5mm hole, being very careful not to snap the drill, to a depth of at least 25mm. Tap the hole with an M6 tap, lubricate well, and be careful, ( Where have I heard that before.). The internal part of the wiper shaft seems to be a lot softer than the outer skin. Pack the aluminium housing with copper slip. Use the original nut as a washer, add an M6 high tensile allen bolt with washer ( 20 - 25mm long ). Reassemble, plug motor back in and test, before you refit, it should go like the clappers, if not re-examine. Hope this helps, Eddie.
  4. Hi, after some info please. I have noticed that there are no speakers in the rear of the car, either side of the rear parcel shelf, is there any wiring in place for these, also there is only one light in the boot to the left hand side, but there is a mounting on the right hand side also, is there any wiring in place for this also. Thanks, Eddie.
  5. Hi Si, How much would you like for it. Thanks, Eddie.
  6. Hi all, Newbie saying hello. My first skoda (1.9 SDI classic octavia 2001). Liking it very much so far. Car is a bit basic inside, but i'm sure i can sort that. I currently install automatic irrigation systems in hotel's and pubs, for hanging baskets, and planters. I also used to be a mechanical and production engineer, used a lot of old skool milling machine's, and lathes etc. I also like vintage volkswagens, and currently own a 1965 splitscreen, LHD, double door, 11 window microbus. So again hello all. Eddie
