Anyone know where Mike Holroyd is???
mobilone replied to blackspaven's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
having met mike on Wednesday whilst he was in my area with a coach trip, and tried to get him to come back to the forum, its highly unlikely that he will do so ive known mike for over 10 years, having initially met him on the Volvo forum,. He was, as he is now a great help to many genuine skoda members of this forum. its a pity that the forum is falling into decline, and loosing quality members like mike. the moderators should be more strict by eradicating those responsible and expelling them -

I will be meeting my very good friend mike tomorrow, as he has a coach trip coming to my area, I will certainly convey all your good wishes to him, but, as said in many replies, its doubtful that he will return -

I can assure you that mike is ok. he informs me that he has not visited the forum since july because of some members questioning his knowledge, and taking great pleasure in trying to wind him up by challenging his answers and general bickering. mike has given his unlimited time in trying to help people, even driving to their homes to carry out repairs and alter settings with his software, for no payment at all,not that any was expected. thank you to you all you have shown concern as to his welfare, its a shame that a member like him has to resort to this measure- 81 replies

thank you auric, the fact that after a few weeks after installation, an engineer was sent out to check the workmanship, brings into question the overall standard
-
not one answer in this posting has referred to my question, how safe are the installation people tasked to change the meters over, i.e. washers being missed out ,electric meters being wired up the wrong way, as per bbc television watchdog last week
-
I for one will be refusing to have a smart meter fitted, not only because of the inaccurate readings that some customers have reported, but also as seen on bbc watchdog last night, fitters with the bare minimal of training had left one customers house filled with gas, by not fitting a simple washer, and another reported the electric meter had been wrongly wired up.

the Whitby steam traction rally takes place on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of august, previously the Pickering steam rally, but moved to Whitby last year. as this was my first ever steam rally, I was really impressed by the displays, vintage cars, etc. and the traction engines in full steam, a full day out of nostalgia. so I am going again this year. definitely worth a visit
