  1. @chimaera Kind of yes I cleaned up the plastics, I haven't had a focused attempt at the fabric trims yet, I do plan to once I've had a chance to get some more carpet cleaner. Whilst it was all out I was really just curious if dark upper trims were available.
  2. Does anyone know if the roof console, sun visors and grab handles are available in dark grey or black? The white pillar trims in my Superb are grubby and the headlining has water marks where the sunroof has leaked, so was looking at colouring them dark grey or black, but would prefer factory coloured plastics for the high wear areas.
  3. Well, I'm still reading page 3.... but just wanted to say thanks for all the great info so far! Since I have all the front carpet & insulation out to replace the insulation & knackered sunroof drain hoses, I've started deadening the front foot wells, transmission tunnel and under the rear seats as I don't plan on ever removing them all again! Only using the 2mm Silent Coat but have doubled up on the floor pan in the rear foot wells as it was exceptionally tinny sounding compared to the rest of the floor pan. Later in the year I will likely do the doors and boot floor.
  4. Hi, Is there anyone in the South central area (Oxford - Winchester corridor), who could change the region on my Superb II to Australia and enable the digital speedo in the Maxidot display? Cheers, Greg
  5. @chimaera thanks for the EA189 link, have checked and it's been done according to the link: "ŠKODA Partner has confirmed to us the service action (Diesel EA189) had been performed for this VIN."
  6. Will have a think about gtechniq, the car will be doing 20-25k a year mostly motorway driving so the front will get trashed in no time with stone chips, regular wash & wax will likely be plenty to keep it looking smart after a damn good machine polish. Park Assist ... is it any good at getting the car nicely parked in a gap or is it a bit of a gimmick? I didn't try it on the test drive for fear of something going wrong!
  7. @DEL80Y That would be appreciated, thank you. Fingers crossed it won't come to R&Ring the whole assembly, but thanks for the link it will be very handy if needed. Given the very light staining and small amount of water in the boot I'm optimistic Just cleaning drains will work... well see when I manage to get the car picked up next week. First job clean the roof drains. Second; is dig out the DAS-6, find the Meguiars and carnauba and get a bit of a sweat on.
  8. Yep viewed and light water staining to the rear roof lining and water in the spare wheel well, headlining stains will come out with a little carpet cleaner I reckon. I take it that the head lining needs to be dropped to allow checking that the hoses are all correctly fitted to the pano roof assembly? Have had to clean sunroof drains before so I know that isn't a difficult job itself.
  9. Off to view one this afternoon if it doesn't sell before I finish work! Bit higher mileage than I would have liked but ticks a couple more boxes than the other two I saw, one being a black interior which will be better I think, as as well as being a motorway car for commuting (75+ a day) it will be a family car at the weekends. Are there any concerns with the opening panoramic roofs on these older models?
  10. Oh boy, found two cars, both very nice but ... black leather or cream leather interior....? Tough call, I do like that Skoda have decided on black carpet with the cream leather, a very wise choice!
  11. Any suggestions on things to look for when buying a Superb 2010 2.0tdi (170) DSG? Any specific things once at a certain mileage? Thanks,
  12. Hi, I've got a 2006 Octavia 2ltr diesel DSG with 150k on the clock. Recently I've replaced the NSF outer CV joint (2nd time in 2 years). The last few weeks I've now noticed a judder/wobble through the car, it starts to become noticeable from around 40mph and steadily gets worse with more speed, I got the feeling it was coming from the NSF again so today replaced the inner CV joint, on removing the old one it was in pretty bad shape. A good shake of the drive and it was rattling, cleaned and checked the rollers in the inner joint and they were discoloured and showing some wear. Took the car for a test drive and it's still doing the same thing, however (it might have been doing this before but I can't say I noticed...) I noticed that the wobble seems worse when pulling away on left corners like the 1st exit of a roundabout. I also tried pulling away hard in a straight line from traffic lights and juddering is immediate and then through out the acceleration. If I accelerate slowly/normally the judder only starts to become noticeable over 40mph. Any ideas what's up? It's driving me crazy!!
  13. OK thanks, they "looked" OK when I had a peek under the car yesterday ... compared to the console bushes which are clearly split, there's a fair amount of corrosion on the anti roll bar but nothing too serious looking by the bushes. I'll leave it be unless the mechanic spots anything wrong. Also the car doesn't feel overly roly when cornering. Going to quite a treat having firm suspension again!!
  14. Is there a DIY or guide for replacing front anti roll bar bushes? Subframe is coming out for some other work (inc shocks & lower arms) so figured whilst it's down might as well get the bushes done too, 136k car. Or is it better to spend the extra and renew the anti roll bar complete? Thanks!
  15. Hi, Been reading the forums for a whiie now, fantastic info here! I've had my Octavia for a couple of months now and its due for a service (110k). Are there any recommendable garages near Didcot who have good knowledge with Skoda's and who will know from the service book whats due to be done and get it done right. Had a bad experience with a BMW specialist before and its seriously dented my trust in gargaes ... Cheers,
