  1. Just to update the thread, local dealer identified the problem as the sensor behind the headlight unit. ( not sure if this is referred to as a CANBus unit or not). It was a front bumper off job to access fittings!
  2. Thank you for your responses, car goes into Skoda for a service in 3 weeks, and I'll see what i can find before had to try and save a hefty bill!
  3. I have a 2014 MK2 Superb L&K estate with LED DRL to the side of the headlight unit. At the start of the week and error pinged up on the maxi dot to check right side DRL. When i restarted the car it had gone, only for it to come on again the next time i used the car. On checking the light was out, then the next time the light was flashing on and off. On Wednesday it then threw in a Front right indicator warning as well. This has now become and intermittent problem with it working some times and then failing mid journey. I have turned the DRL off to stop this problem, but every time i check back there is still a fault with them. In any other car i would suspect a bulb, but don't thing that is the case with these units. Any one had this issue before or got any ideas what may be causing the issue. Thanks in advance for any advice and help.
  4. Does anyone know where the condensate unit drain exits the vehicle so I can check if this is blocked?
  5. Thanks for all your responses... I'm sure this never happened when I first got the car, and never had issue with previous cars fitted with climate control so worried something more is amiss! I will see how I get on!
  6. I have a 2014 170BHP Diesel L&K estate. Both of the last two winters when the outside temperature drops i have an apparent issue with my climate control. I can be 15 miles into a journey, everything working fine, then the outside temperature drops below 2c and the car starts steaming up on the inside, Fan on demist and heated screen on and it struggles to clear the mist from the windscreen and doesn't do the side windows, carry on outside temperature rises and the climate control appears to be working perfectly again. I have had the Air-Con re gassed, there is a new battery in the car, i have checked the pollen filter and that is dry and clean. There is no sign of water ingress carpets are all dry. Has anyone else had a similar issue or does any one know what the cause of this may be? Thanks in advance for your help.
  7. I have upgraded my Skoda for a superb estate with the Columbus Multi media system. Last year i uploaded most of my i Tunes collection onto the SD card for playing in the car.. This was great. Christmas has been and gone and with a couple of new CD's i wanted to update my SD card. following the same process, uploading to itunes in MP3 format i went to cut and paste to the SD card, it all appeared good - new folders with the tracks present until i removed the card and it all disappeared. Tried again and clicked the safe removal option and an error message comes up:- "Windows can't stop your 'generic volume' device because it is in use, Close any programs or windows that migt be using the device and then try again later" As i have no other files etc open, this appears to be caused by the card still thinking it is being read by the in car system, Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it? or does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi, hope some one can help. My 2004 Octavia 2L PDi is fitted with climate control, i have had on and off issues in hot weather when i have had to turn off the climate control after an hour as it had become ineffective ... Not much fun when drining in Spain. It has been re gassed and pressure tested in the summer. Between Christmas and new year on a gentle 130 mile run up the motorway i was starting to feel a tad chilli depsite the climate control set at what should be a very pleasant 22c. The climate control was not pumping any heat into the car. Turned climate control off and the standard heater heated the care up very nicely. Any idea what the problem is or how to eliminate each component to try and resolve the matter. Thanks in advance.
  9. Just to follow up i have pressed the ECON and recirc button, this displays "i 0" which i guess means no faults shown.
  10. Thanks for the replies, in i know water normally does accumulate under the vehicle i just felt that for the length of the journey, the ambient outside temperature compared to the setting for the climate control all seemed a bit excessive as the climate control would not have been working to hard to maintain the cabin temperature.
  11. Hi, new on here, I have a 2004 A5 Octavia 2.0l TDI elegance which has now done 143000 miles. This summer the climate control has become more and more unreliable and now becomes inefficient in under and hours drive - used to be two hours. This is normally resolved by switching the car to ECON for a short while until the cold air stops blowing then back to climate control. The other day which was not particularly warm, did a small journey of 10 miles and was surprised how much water then dripped under the car - starting to creep out and visible from the side. I'm guessing that one of the key components is starting to show its age, which i accept with the mileageand use, but can some one give me a clue as to which part? Aircon was regassed at the start of the summer and the filter replaced as well. Ir appears i may be suffering with the fuel economy slightly as well since this problem started. Any help or advice gratefully received.
