  1. Be careful and patient installing the inlet tube to the Turbo after the new DV is in place as it is larger than the stock unit and also oil up the internals of the new DV with engine oil. From memory I think the instructions are sufficient just be sure to follow them well.
  2. Yes still working like the day I installed it you will not be disappointed I'm pushing 22-23psi boost through it every day and the response time from off boost to on is so much faster than the stock DV
  3. I've had the GFB DV+ installed for 15 months and it has worked faultlessly with a stage 1 Superchips tune and it sounds awesome on the pressure dump also just running a K&N panel filter.
  4. I just had exactly the same noise/problem below is my post for a fix in another topic. It is the fuel lines inside the channel underneath the car they reverberate against the frame and the sound is referred sound or transmitted up the B pillar. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/397319-1-month-inloving-it-except-for-the-damn-rattles/?p=4622871
  5. I also get the start up whine for just a few seconds but nothing after that and only when it is a cold start.
  6. Not the bottom B pillar plastic part inside the car. Had to jack the car up, get underneath and remove that large plastic cover which is outside of the car.
  7. Hi All, I just did some R&D with a local gas strut business in Melbourne Australia to fit bonnet lifters to my Octavia. We measured the weight of the bonnet, distance of hinge to mount point and the length of strut required and determined the NM needed to do the lift. I'm happy to say it was a complete success and they can now supply this kit including washers. Should be somewhere around A$50-60. AU guys please follow the below link to make contact. http://schuttiesfasteners.com.au
  8. Mine developed a buzzing sound at around 2000rpm it sounded like it was in the door or the B pillar. I've done 36,000km and it's the first annoying rattle. I booked it into the dealer but today decided to investigate it myself as I was sick of it. Took off the large plastic cover under drivers side of car and noticed that the plastic fuel lines were sitting loose inside the channel that they run through. I jammed some small rags up between the plastic pipes through all the small holes in the channel to insulate them from the car body. Problem solved but will leave it a few days before cancelling the booking with the dealer.
  9. I had a slow coolant leak in my 2014 VRS from new. I check under the bonnet each weekend so noticed it after a few thousand Kms. Just before the 15,000km service I had the low coolant light come on. This was their first diagnosis. Then after the service they decided the water pump needed replacement. After I got the car back it was leaking so bad I had to top up the water every day and it was leaving a puddle on the garage floor. Took it back and they said the other pump needed to be replaced. Apparently behind what they replaced the first time. Long story short had a loan car for 3 weeks after that while they sorted it out. All good now have not had to top up the water in the last 15,000km.
  10. Thermoregulator seems to be a problem as I stated on 10th June if you need to top up more than a litre of coolant in 10,000kms it appears a known warranty issue at least down under!!! They also noted on my first service front tyre tread depth 4mm compared with 7.5mm on rear haha no second guessing why that would be!!! Maybe I should stop turning off traction control.
  11. Today I installed a Mini 0805 GPS dash cam and only found out after running the wiring up under the centre console that the 12v socket stays on when the ignition is off arrrggg!!!. So what I did next was cut the wire off the plug pulled it back and hard wired it into the fuse box with a fuse tap. I also pulled apart the 12v car adapter and hard wired into the circuit so I would get the 12v to 5v drop that the dash cam needs. All good and now works when the ignition is turned on. I can't post up pics yet.
  12. I've just had the 15,000km service and they said they have to replace the thermoregulator due to a coolant leak. I've had to add almost a litre of coolant since owning the car. They'll need the car for a day.
  13. Hey andyvee, I don't have any visible fault codes on the dash and my OBDII scan tool doesn't find any either where will they be ?
  14. I just disconnected my SG today which is a 2 min job and you only need to remove the first 3 clips as the plastic part has a join half way and flex's up enough to get a full arm in there. I love the natural sound of the engine now under heavy throttle and also the turbo sound. I wouldn't bother asking the car dealer to turn it off via software because if I want it back on I know it is just a 2 min job if I want it.
