Hey, thanks for the reply. When I checked it from the garage it will have been cold as I was at work for some hours while the car cooled. Wouldn’t have have been cold but warm when I checked it yesterday. Defiantly not operating temperature though.

Mines only the hatch but tows this perfectly. (TDI)

Hello everyone. Just wanted opinions really. my mk3 vrs seems to be burning way more oil that I think it should. Car had a service and MOT at the end of feb all came back fine. Then it had the cam belt and water pump done in the middle of March. Since the service I’ve done around 750 miles and the dipstick now shows minimum oil when I checked it today. I checked it a few days after the service and it was at max. No warning lights or errors have ever shown and last year I felt like it was doing the same. I will admit I do short journeys for a diesel in towns mainly but I need it for towing. COVID stopped that last year hence the short journeys. Just seems way too much for a car that’s done 51k miles. From what I’ve read here it could be inside the engine itself that’s the problem. I assume it wouldn’t be covered under the extended warranty if that was the case? Many thanks.
