  1. I have a maxidot for sale if that's of any use?
  2. I'm not sure what that's meant to mean but I'm not a manager, on less than that, and am still enjoying my 3 month old 530e.
  3. The swirl flap is vacuum driven on the TSI. I have one RJG. I can send it your way if you like? Mine's used, about 60k old, and came off the car before I did the IM job so I cannot be sure that it's 100% working. But better than buying a new one?
  4. Probably blue for e, seems to be the trend. The 530e has a choice of about 10 colour options, but they're not super fancy. I'm hoping there's a way to code in more colours.
  5. It's clear that they are as upset with me as much as I am with them; they see me as problem customer. But I'm just going to move on and never deal with them again, which is probably a mutual feeling. We've spoken over on OCUK too I believe, but I'm under a different username there
  6. I had a feeling that might be the case, especially when my first 'payment' was only £266 instead of the quoted £384. So if NHS have quoted £384pm for two years (2x 384 = £9216) does that mean I may pay more overall?
  7. No good ones. Usually just the ones I take after I've washed and waxed it
  8. I'll need to double check with HR, but given that it's a salary sacrifice scheme, I'd assume that once I've maid my 24 monthly payments, all is done with?
  9. Makes perfect sense. I don't really understand how the BIK stuff works, but I don't think it's changing until 2020. I have to give mine back in Feb 2020 so I might luck out and be able to get another similar car before the rates go up. Assuming it works like that... My daily commute is ~13 miles so I just manage it on a full charge. I was using Max E drive, but I've managed a little better in Auto mode, as about 4 of those miles are on a dual carriageway. I have the same thoughts about EV too. Hoping that by 2020 fun EVs are cheaper and more accessible.
  10. I've just had the rudest email after having nothing but bother with them for now over a year. I've essentially been branded a liar, and have kept my STS device that THEY broke (which they have denied on paper). When they deem that the fault is not with their map, they keep your money and want nothing more to do with you, unless they can charge you more. I seriously recommend avoiding this company. I've kept my distaste out of the public light but not any longer.
  11. Not sure what issues you speak of? I have the 530e on NHS special offer - Sophisto grey, 14k a year, ~£380. Epic car. I'm saving about £80 a month on fuel compared to my Octavia TSI VRS, as I do most of my work commute on electric (about £12 (fuel and leccy) a week as opposed to £30) so mine theoretically costs £300 a month. That's just a little more than what the Skoda averaged me with Insurance and repairs etc. No brainer for me The 530e was recently on special offer again, but I it's no longer there :(
  12. Good luck getting your money back. I was refused it as they said it's not a map issue. There's more to it, but I'll keep it off the public forum to be fair.
  13. Diverter or Recirculation valve is the correct term, as in the case of the TSI it is not dumping the pressure into the atmosphere.
  14. I have an upopened, still sealed 325ml bottle of Autoglym SRP - £8 posted Standard Facelift Octavia VRS springs, about 65k miles old. I've not idea what to ask, so I'll just put £20 down, but buyer collects. I have other detailing products too, but I will compile a list when I'm home.
  15. PM sent. My rant will not serve the thread any good, brace yourself for a long, miserable PM haha
  16. Alright Dazza. I'm in Wallsend too. I'm now longer a Skoda Owner, but I still have VCDS if you ever want any error checking or coding/adaptations done.
  17. Sounds like you've had a better experience with Shark then I did.
  18. 530e running well. Did about an hour's drive from Newcastle to Northumberland in Sport mode with a heavy right foot. Drove back driving sensible in Auto eDrive mode and the whole day averaged 50MPG. Can't really argue with that. Coming in this morning, I was driving purely on petrol in urban stop start traffic. 23MPG wasn't too horrific.
  19. I'm no pro detailer, but BH are quickly becoming one of my favourite brands. Their Double Speed wax is good, and their Surfex HD is a very good APC that works at very low concentrations; it'll last forever. I'm going to try their shampoo next.
  20. It seemed to generally run a little better, but really I'm just a weekend warrior / novice so a more capable mechanic would be able to tell you better. Erm, putting it back together was another day of 'fun' in itself. I remember that bracket being a git to remove and reinstall, but I remember there being a sweet spot to get at it. As you'll already know, there is a very delicate wire (a temp sensor I think?) that runs along that 'blade' on the metal bracket - just be careful when reinstalling. Like anything, fasten everything loosely until you're happy everything is in and lined up, the tighten up. I took all the intake piping off between the TB and the IC; this opened up a lot more access. I also remember that fitting the injector loom was a bit of a mission. I can't remember now when I fastened all the injectors back up, but I remember there was a point at which would be too late to do and I had to take the IM off again a couple of times. Here's the link to my thread if it helps. Not much in there, but the videos I link to helped me out a huge bunch:
  21. Good job. Took me 3 days to do! Tough job, but I learned a lot.
  22. Everyone uses a pressure washer. I don't see why you wouldn't. Just don't put the nozzle right up against the paint and be sensible. Depending on how dirty it is (if you're washing a protected car weekly then it shouldn't be too bad) you could try a citrux, wax/sealant safe prewash to clean the worst bits, then rinse off with the hose and do a two bucket hand wash. If the car has a good protection (Wax/sealant etc.) on it then you shouldn't need to do more than a simple maintenance wash every week or two.
